Re: realtime control knob issues
<t>I had exactly the same problem with my Fantom S..two of the realtime knobs would suddenly decide to change values themselves, so had to get two new ones, the repair guy reckoned it was pressure from the case lid that caused it. In my case my case (no pun intended) wasn't snug enough..when the cas...

Fantom X8 - one key generates annoying interference-like cli
<t>Hi, has anyone come across this one before? <br/> <br/> We've got a Fantom X8, had it for years so will be out of warranty. Recently we've noticed one (and only one) of the keys seems to generate an electronic click or pop (alongside the patch sound) when it's played. Like the click or pop you mi...

Re: Horrible problem with Fantom X8, static bursts when chan
<t>I've recently discovered if I set the tempo/metronome blinking light to 'rec/play only', ie. turn it off (I previously had it set to 'always' so it was always flashing)...it doesn't seem to happen anymore. I've been playing my Fantom X8 regularly for 2 days now, and haven't had any of the loud st...

Re: Please help! Fantom X8 file storage issue.
<t>Hi, I have the exact same problem..Fantom X8, using a Sandisk 6-in-1 PC-Card adapter and various memory cards (XD, SD, SmartMedia), all experiencing frequent 'card area full' errors part-way through the copy when I try to copy files onto it (using the Fantom File Utility or User Backup). It's mos...

Clicking/distortion when playing two patches at once and rea
<t>Hi please can anyone help. <br/> <br/> I've come across a problem with my Fantom X8 with certain patches when I've created a performance that splits the keyboard into two parts, ie. bass left hand, piano right. When I reach the maximum number of voices (as per the voice monitor), I start to get s...

Re: Horrible problem with Fantom X8, static bursts when chan
<t>Cheers everyone. It is indeed a loud static explosion with lots of reverb...and the loudness is thankfully dependent on the volume knob. So at least I know I can turn the volume right down when I change patches, to make sure it doesn't sound. <br/> <br/> The 'shift-effects' shortcut is a good tip...

'Card Full' message trying to save files to memory card on F
<t>Hi, please help..does anyone know what might be going on here. I recently bought a used Fantom X8 and am having problems saving to memory cards. I bought a SanDisk 6-in-1 PC-Card adapter. I have 2 64Mb SmartMedia cards, various sizes of XD cards, and a 1GB SD card. The Fantom can see and write to...

Horrible problem with Fantom X8, static bursts when changing
<t>Hello, please can someone help. I bought a used Fantom X8 from a large UK music retailer a few months ago. I have a few really big gigs with a new band coming up in a few weeks time, and I am totally relying on it to work. <br/> <br/> Sometimes, seemingly at random, when changing between performa...

Roland XP-30 tingly sensation from metal case..earth leakage
<t>Hi, I'm wondering if there are any XP-30 owners with the same problem as me......ever since I got my XP-30 about 4 years ago sometimes I've always been just about able to feel a kind of tingly or furry sensation if I move my fingers over the metal bits (more so if my fingers are sweaty). I've nev...

Re: Carry case breaking knobs on Fantom-S
er, none where the knobs are, it's just got a thin (ie. very thin, 2mm maybe) layer of spongy stuff covered in fur, which lines the whole inside of the case. There is thicker spongy stuff over the keys. Maybe I need to acquire some spongy egg-cup type foam stuff from somewhere..I'll try that.

Carry case breaking knobs on Fantom-S
<t>Hi there, my Fantom-S is currently having repairs because it's got faulty realtime controller knobs, started off as one knob going wild of it's own accord but apparently another one is loose enough to become faulty real soon and the other two will go the same way. The repairman tells me it's prob...

My knob goes off by itself
<t>Dude I've exactly the same problem with my Fantom-S, just over 3 years old, out of warranty. 4th realtime controller knob changing values by itself. In a performance the release parameter would change itself (leading to long sustained notes when i didn't want them) and in the mixer screen I could...

Re: Please help..can't read internal or card data via USB, n
<t>Hi, I can read my memory card (SmartMedia not CF btw) fine with my card reader on my PC, that's not the problem. My primary goal is that I want to be able to get at the contents of the Fantom's internal memory, to back it up to my PC. <br/> <br/> I have already tried assigning a drive letter, but...

Re: Please help..can't read internal or card data via USB, n
<t>Hi, I don't have any media player software running. I do have software for my Creative Vision media device installed on my PC, I wondered if that might be causing the problem...but I tried the USB connection on my laptop too which doesn't have the software...same problem. <br/> <br/> I also saw a...
