Re: Pads or Keys....why does it sound different???

Don't forget when using the keys the velocity isn't set to a specific like the pads are. I think the pads are set between 100-127 by default, the keys are how hard you press them (assuming that you are playin the sample with the middle C key).

Re: Fantom Recording Recommendations

<t>If it is at all possible I would get the VS2400 or 2480 they have the option to connect a monitor, mouse and keyboard. I'd also recommend getting a pc/mac for editting, software synths, arranging, their limits are endless.<br/> <br/> I don't have the chunk of change you have, but I'm working with...

Re: For those who make hiphop beats

<t>Mr. Lays,<br/> I take a simalar approach, I too make music based on moods (feelings). My stand point is if a CD has all songs with the same feelling, you'll grow tired of hereing it. But if that same CD has tracks with different moods on it, then 1 day you might listen to tracks 1-7-11-15, anothe...

Re: SoundCards

Yes it serves as your sound card (hardware dongle for pro tools). I don't actually know anyone with an M-Box, but my people use the Digi001, 002 and HD24 protools systems.

I would say its as good as any other sound card aimed at the semi-pro home studio.

Re: For those who make hiphop beats

<t>Wutz goin on fellas,<br/> <br/> I thought I'd jump and give my 2 cents. I seem to use samples more when using the pc to make a beat (w/reason, fl studio), than I do with the fantom.<br/> <br/> I found that mixing the kicks with a synth bass or tackin different kicks, I can usually get the sound i...

Re: exporting seperate tracks from x6

<t>Why not dump the tracks into the program (laptop) using midi/mtc?<br/> <br/> To me its easier and it'll line up.<br/> <br/> If its an 8 bar loop record 16 bars and cut at 9, and loop from 9 through 17. This way it won't skip a beat. I've found that looping from 1 thru 9 I get a hickup as it loops...

Re: Fantom users Who also have/used a Motif

<t>As with any instrument, if you tweak it the right way you can usually get the sound your lookin for. I own a Fantom S, my folks own the motif. We did it this way so if by request someone wanted to use the motif, fantom or triton we had one. <br/> <br/> My opinion is Fantom has the sickest bass, s...

<t>Despite what anyone else says, "I LOVE MY FANTOM". I've had it almost a year and i'm still learnin its features. I will admit i was disappointed that i couldn't eq or apply effect to each individual tracks, but i've learned to live with it and work around it. They all got there strong points, bas...
