You can use a an IDE SSD like those from Kingspec orany early PATA models from Intel and they work fine. The main advantage is that the SSD doesn't bog down as it fills. Juke179 is spot on. You don't need a converter. The Roland phone reps tend to be far less knowledgeable than the users of the MV

Into a receiver or integrated amp - Hook it up the same as CD player, DJ mixer , or any other line level device. Any input other than PHONO will do just fine. You may need a 1/4 to RCA adapter or cables if you don't have them.
