Re: Do SRX boards sound the same in fantom and XV Synths?
<t>I don't know if i fully understand your question, but i can tell that i had a Fantom XR and a SonicCell, and i liked a lot more the sound of the SRX boards in my SonicCell (and my fellow musicians also shared this opinion). Maybe its a question of AD converters? <br/> I do think you need to hear ...

Re: SRX card,...or NI Komplete?
<t>Komplete is far superior in terms of quality and number of patches. I've owned both SRX and Komplete and i can tell you that they are totally diferent products. <br/> The only drawback in Komplete 7 is that you have to go down the software path, and get a good computer (MacBook Pro) and a good so...

No soundfonts, just AIFF and WAV. You can use a converter and extract the wav files from the soundfont.

Maybe because the interface is USB 1 and not 2?

Re: 2 Fantom Gs (does it make sense?)
If you want a new keyboard why have the same sound set? For me it makes sense buying different keyboards to have different strong points from each. And for 2000 you can get a Muse Receptor, a Kurzweil, Moog, etc...
It all depends of your goals.

Re: 2nd Keyboard to compliment the X8 and SRX recommendation
<t>For me the best keyboards in stage performing overall are the Kurzweil. They stay good in the mix, and it's the best orchestral sounds you'll ever have on your fingertips. <br/> I own an old PC2R and it has been the best buy i have done in the past 5 years (together with the Yamaha CP33 stage pia...

Re: WARNING!!! Never buy a CME
Sell it period. I had a CME UF and that was the worst buy ever. I sold it 3 months after i bought it and took the loss. Bad midi filtering ( caused me a lot of problems live, and i use midi for 15 years!), horrible key action and bad construction (the keys rattled after 3 weeks!).

Re: Fantom X8 Is Digitized
If the connection is not happening within the Fantom and the computer, how can the sounds be affected? Are you sure you're not hearing a general midi sound either then the keyboards sounds?

Re: XR replacing X7, transfering sounds?
<t>Just copy your card contents to an empty folder in your computer, and then after formating your target card on the Fantom Xr , drag and drop the two folders Roland and TMP; it will ask if you want to overwrite, say yes. <br/> All of this process is using the storage mode, for wich you have to cha...

Re: What type of card do I use for memory for the X8?
I don't own a Fantom X but a Fantom XR so i hope i can hit the right spot.
In System settings scroll thru the menus till you find the pitch bend option; there apply a 0 value, so it basically disables any pitch bend information from being transmitted. I hope it solves your problem.

Re: Fantom G6 or Fantom X6
<t>I think that the amont of useable patches you can get is imense in an X fully SRX expanded. And to that extent i can't see a Fantom G being able to compete for now. Where talking of 1000 plus factory sounds (can't remember the exact number) plus 475 patches in the Ultimate Keys; 448 Complete Orch...

Also double-check your samples again with a good set of headphones and at high volumes. Most noise and phase issues on samples go undetected.

<t>I currently own a Fantom XR with 5 SRX (Complete Orchestra; Symphonic Strings; Ultimate Keys; Ethnic; Brass) that is the rig you where pointing out. <br/> I do love the number of great sounds you have in the expansions and for me this makes the X my all-in-one sound library. Or one of us can give you a spare tool. I'm willing to do this if you live in Portugal. I bought several SRX so be my guest.
