I called Roland in Los Angeles, and the factory in Japan that produced it had some problems so there currently is a shortage of the part. They should have more in about 4 weeks though.

How do samples stay in RAM?
I bought a 512MB DIMM but haven't installed it yet. I was wondering, how do samples stay in RAM when the unit is powered off?
I heard you can use a 1GB DIMM. Should I return my 512 and get a 1GB instead?

Roland says, "This is the latest operating system for the Fantom-X Version 2. Your unit will already have to be running Version 2.00 to perform this update. Please refer to the readme.pdf for the update procedure."
