V-Synth XT as an effects box
I know to set it to Ext Oscillator, but is there a way to just plug in a guitar and go? The only way I see to use the XT as an effects box is to set up the patch with a key hold, press a key on a keyboard, then use the guitar. Is there a way to avoid the key hold?

Re: Alert: Yahoo Groups shutting down | Archive ASAP
This is amazing! Thanks for doing this!
So are your archives available somewhere?
If not, I understand and am offering to host the v-synth files (not the messages) so they are publicly accessible.

V-Synth XT PC card issue
Until a few days ago, I hadn't powered up my V-synth XT for almost ten years. It works fine thankfully. I have a CF card in a PCMCIA adapter in the XT, the same one I used without issue years ago. Now, it worked the first time I powered it up, but now it doesn't, gives me the "PC CARD NOT READY...

Re: Patch check
...because I'm a dork and pasted the wrong link. Try this one:
http://jayb.ath.cx/Sounds.php#VSynth
And I should have also mentioned that some of the patches sound quite good except for the whiny noise.

Patch check
I downloaded some free patches for the V-Synth from here: http://synthwise.com/jaybs-sounds-roland-v-synth/2010/03/24 I just want to see if anybody else has the problem that every patch has a medium pitch white noise type whine. I turned off everything, OSC, COSM, effects and the noise was still the...

Re: Converted GT patches for the original VSynth
I'm thanking you again after having gone through the patches. There are some really good patches in there. Some sound great, some are great starting points and others are educational when you examine how they're constructed.

Re: So..V-synth original or JP8000?
If you can afford it, go with the V-Synth. It can do probably 90% or more of the JP patches plus about 10,000 more things besides if you want to get into it.

Loop Cross Fade Fake
<t>I know the V-Synth doesn't do crossfade looping on samples. I've found a couple tricks that can sort of make up for this, but would like to hear some ideas from others.

The most obvious one to me is to use the LFO to modulate the Time parameter of the sample.

Other suggest...

Casio.prj for your V-Synth
Want to make your modern and expensive synth sound like a chap and old Casio? Here's the project for you. Waves from the: Casio VL-1 - the old funky calculator/keyboard Casio MT-40 - a couple years older than the VL-1 and a little more "analog" sounding Casio CT-420 - digital, but still ha...

Is there any way to convert or adapt serakina's patches from GT to regular V-synth?
