How about just using a midi cable between the two?

You cannot use and usb cable between the two. Midi over usb is not designed that way.

oops didnt read the yamaha has no midi in and out connector. Thats very strange. Which model is it?

A G Rack with 4 ARX slots would be 80-part multitimbral. How on earth would one access all those parts?

Well maybe via those otherwise useless 128 midi tracks?

Seeing you can't set date nor time on the fantom G I find it hard to beleive the G would actually add a usable time stamp anyway.

Maybe I am wrong....?

Follow the link and it will say "article preview" meaning you can read a bit of the full article but not all. You need an e-sub subscription to read everything or buy the current edition of the magazine in a shop.
