Re: Can I use a Yamaha keyboard as a controller via USB midi
<r>I see. I've looked at a movie of the DXG630 on youtube and they showed the backside: no MIDI! That's so wierd. Why would they skimp on a 5 dollar interface. <br/> <br/> Ah well, looks like the DGX has enough other useful features. <br/> <br/> To get back to your problem: there is no way of direct...

Re: Can I use a Yamaha keyboard as a controller via USB midi
How about just using a midi cable between the two?
You cannot use and usb cable between the two. Midi over usb is not designed that way.
oops didnt read the yamaha has no midi in and out connector. Thats very strange. Which model is it?

Re: Musikmesse Frankfurt !
<r>I decided to quit the frustration and therefore have sold my fantom G8 this january. Never again will buy a synth on promises, lesson learned.<br/> <br/> Apart from that the G is a *TRULY* wonderful sounding machine, but I could not appreaciate it anymore due to frustration. I also sold the MV880...

God I hope not. I hope 2010 will have a replacement for the G with the sequencer of the MV.

Re: Phrase Recording Mixdown
<t>I bought the G for the all in one workstation concept with the 128 track midi sequencer as well as for the sound of course<br/> <br/> I also bought an MV 8800 to be able to sequence freely and switch tracks without stopping recording. The 8800 is an 8800 times better machine for basic sequencing;...

Re: Phrase Recording Mixdown
<t>No, sadly this is not possible. This very logical and very basic sequencer behavious has not been implemented.<br/> <br/> Same with splitting 1 phrase into multiples (time and/or tone wise).<br/> <br/> I can predict a certain response so I will warn you in advance: Don't beleive the gospel of 1 p...

Re: Fantom-G Rack at NAMM?
A G Rack with 4 ARX slots would be 80-part multitimbral. How on earth would one access all those parts?
Well maybe via those otherwise useless 128 midi tracks?

Re: Sample DateTime stamps
Seeing you can't set date nor time on the fantom G I find it hard to beleive the G would actually add a usable time stamp anyway.
Maybe I am wrong....?

Re: Fantom G review in SOS jan09 Magazine
<r>It's knowing what you are looking at Bernard, plus the fact that the fantom G is out for 3/4's of a year at least, no magazine could get away with doing a preview on the G anymore.<br/> <br/> About the shortcomings of the review, well that's how it works when you have to sell advertising space to...

Follow the link and it will say "article preview" meaning you can read a bit of the full article but not all. You need an e-sub subscription to read everything or buy the current edition of the magazine in a shop.
