Re: Bought a Fantom G6 today to compliment the X8
Congrats.
I bought a Yamaha S70XS to compliment my X7.
Then I bought a Hammond XK3c.
Then I bought a Fantom XR.
Now I'm going to sell my X7.
One day it may stop.....

Re: XR replacing X7, transfering sounds?
I've decided I'm going to dump the Xr. The prices that used X7's are fetching around here is a joke. I'd be giving up too much.
I think I'm going to get an XK1 instead of the XK3c.
Thanks anyway.

Re: XR replacing X7, transfering sounds?
<t>Thanks cminor, it sort of makes sense. I think I'm losing a little in translation, but I really appreciate your effort. <br/> I'm using 1 Performance per song as well, not 1 Performance and changing the Patches inside, just to be clear. <br/> I'll give it a shot tonight. Any other examples you ca...

Re: XR replacing X7, transfering sounds?
<t>Thanks guys. I ended up just swapping the card from my X7 into the Xr. I checked the memory usage on the X7 card, and it was so low, I just decided to sell the larger card with the X7. <br/> <br/> BTW, while I have your attention, I have a question about Performance mode on the Rolands. <br/> My ...

XR replacing X7, transfering sounds?
<t>Hi all, I've just picked up a Fantom XR to replace my X7 (yeah, I know weird, but I want to get a Hammond) <br/> All my Performances, Patches, & samples are stored on a 1G card inserted in the X7. <br/> The XR came with a 4G card, so I'd like to transfer my stuff from the 1G to the 4G. <br/> ...

Re: Using the Fantom to control external gear.
<t>Initially this all started as an exercise to use the XS' Master mode function to change sounds on the Fantom & PolyEvolver automatically between songs in a live situation (yes I actually used to do it manually). <br/> At the moment, the Performance/Patch changing is working well. <br/> I've b...

Using the Fantom to control external gear.
<t>When you're in Performance mode, and want to use the External function to control external gear, is there a way to set up a key map so that the external source doesn't play across the whole keyboard? (I'd like to zone it myself). <br/> I'm presently using a Yamaha S70XS to control all my Performa...

Re: I never turn off my Fantom X8 off. Is that OK?
<t>Over the years I have learned to keep my musical instruments visible and ready. For example, my guitars are not in cases, they are on stands, ready. And so it is with my Roland X8. <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> Ready? Ready for what? <br/> I fire up my boards, DAW, and then head upstairs to make a cup ...

There's plenty of midi hookup examples on the net as well.
Do a Google or Bing search.

Re: Possible to select FanX Performances from another keyboa
<t>Thanks Arjan. <br/> The Yammie forces you to do the MSB/LSB & PC numbers in the correct order, and I've been over the Roland numbers countless times. <br/> <br/> I've been told I can setup a sysex string in Cubase, then save it as a SMF on a USB stick and then load it up in the S70XS and send...
