Re: Why no reverb in MFX?
Reverb is a send effect. Each zone can send its signal to the reverb effect, and in an initialized scene, each zone by default sends an equal amount of its signal to the reverb effect.

Understanding Partial Structures
A quick introduction to partial structures in the Zen-Core engine: Partials 1 and 2 are a pair and partials 3 and 4 are a pair. The partial structures work identically for the two pairs. To simplify things, I will only use the first pair. The Fantom visualizes the structures (in ZOOM mode) on the di...

Samples or VA?
Here is a simple way for testing whether oscillators are samples or VA: Initialize the tone and set the pitch bend range to a large value. On the Fantom, the range is -48 to +48 semitones. Pick an oscillator, play and hold a note, and then use the pitch bend lever to increase and decrease the pitch....

Re: Is there a Roland Cloud compatible rack mount unit?
The MC-101 is interesting as a module. It supports all the Zen-Core sounds (including all the XV5080 and SuperNatural synth sounds). It can import sounds from the Fantom. It is 4-part multi-trimbral. And it is affordable (~250 USD on the used market).

Re: Stop pad loop with pedal ?
I want to know if is there a way to trigger the pad with a pedal ? I do not think that it is possible to do it directly with the Fantom. It might be possible to do it from another keyboard that can send note on/off messages in latching mode from a pedal. I think the Roland A-300Pro MIDI controller ...

Re: Controlling iPad from attached midi keyboard?
The only slight issue is there doesn’t seem to be a way to stop the a-pro from triggering an internal sound on the fantom. No matter what midi channel you’re on on the a-pro and the iPad, the instrument assigned to that same channel on the fantom will also trigger when u play a-pro even if you set ...

Re: Controlling iPad from attached midi keyboard?
I thought I would keep the A-pro connected by the external device port because the Fantom powers it no problem. Would the iPad have enough juice to power it? Have an Air 4 and A-800. Is the iPad connected to the charger while using is? If so, it should provide enough power. Otherwise, I would not p...

Re: Controlling iPad from attached midi keyboard?
What about if I kept the usb connection from the a-pro to the external device port, but also connected a midi to usb cable from the midi out port of the A-pro to the IPad hub? That would allow me to control both right? Why don't you connect the A-PRO via USB to the iPad (hub), and the A-PRO via 5-p...

Re: Controlling iPad from attached midi keyboard?
Conceptually, the Fantom consists of two components: A CONTROLLER and a SOUND ENGINE. The CONTROLLER sends "MIDI messages" to the SOUND ENGINE and/or to MIDI OUT. The SOUND ENGINE receives "MIDI messages" from the CONTROLLER and from MIDI IN. The INT/EXT/BOTH switch is a CONTROLL...

Re: Control Fantom-0 Organ Drawbars with midi controller?
I was thinking, what about sending a cc121 (reset all controllers) command to the a-pro? That should reset the sustain pedal (and all other controllers) to their defaults, right? I know you can’t send cc121 from the s1 or s2 buttons, or from the external zone control menu (like you can with PC mess...

Re: Control Fantom-0 Organ Drawbars with midi controller?
@xp30 apologies for reviving this old thread. With regards to cycling through the switch groups with the sustain pedal on the A-pro, I’ve found that wherever you are in the series at the end of your song, say switch group 3, when you go to the next scene/song in your setlist, if you press the A-pro...

Re: Switcing patches for external gear w/MSB/LSB
Each of the 16 zones can be configured with one set of bank select MSB/LSB and PC values. A zone will only transmit these messages if it is set to EXT or BOTH. If you only want to send the MSB/LSB and PC values, and no other MIDI messages, then set the key range for that zone to the lowest key, and ...

Re: Controlling the s1 and s2 buttons externally?
No, it is not possible to control the S1 and S2 buttons themselves from an external MIDI controller. However, in many cases it is possible to control what the S1 and S2 buttons would control. For example, if the S1 button is configured to a CC message, then you can instead directly send the CC messa...

It is possible to trigger pads from the sequencer by making one zone the pad zone.

Go to an initialized scene, and write it to the location that you want to initialize.
