Re: Jupiter xm cc5 portamento
Just did a test with JP-X 012 - Big Swells in Part 1. Seems to work ok. Cc 05 is passed to the SCENE PART setting called Port Time [0-127, Tone). If Tone was previously specified, it is replaced with the received MIDI value. Port must be enabled as required in SCENE PART switch [Off, On, Tone], or ...

Jupiter xm cc5 portamento
Hi friends.
Using an external controller, the Jupiter isn’t responding too cc5 portamento. Is there anything I’m missing in the settings.
Many thanks.

Re: Fantom 6,7,8 v3.02
Tried the update, more even but still needs way too much pressure to trigger aftertouch. This can't be fixed with a software update.
Fantom needs updated keybeds.

Re: Roland Fantom Lifecycle
The Fantom does need an update. I bought the Wi-Fi wc1 adapter for Roland cloud. Didn’t work but kept it on the promise that a firmware update would make it compatible. Doesn’t matter too much as I’ve since canceled my subscription, and I have a whole bunch of other libraries. When that wireless ad...

The beginning is in D major with a minor (F natural) added, then the vocals in G major. I guess it can be an artistic choice, but sits very uncomfortably with me. See how the song suddenly dies... The lady returning to the comfortable chord could not possibly be about to reveal a thing or two to he...

Re: Fantom 8 and Logic Pro X
Run the output of fantom into your apogee and only use your apogee as the interface for logic. Otherwise you’ll run into all sorts of headaches.
To use fantom as a controller for logic, be sure that logic is in Rosetta mode otherwise logic won’t be recognised in fantom control mode.

Re: Jupiter 80 and Fantom 8
How did you integrate the JP80 with the Fantom?; only Midi (5 pin/USB)? or has somebody also used the input connector(s) (XLR or TRS) on the Fantom to route the sound from the JP80 into the Fantom? I’ve never had luck using the Fantom inputs. You have to go into settings and enable them every time ...

Re: Fantom Aftertouch (6/7 vs 8)
Yes, another confirmation, fantom 6 owner, and the aftertouch is unusable. I also have a Jupiter 80 and that is also useless. If you want good aftertouch you buy Korg. The best aftertouch is my 1975 Roland SH2000. You’ll have no problem using the fantom with a good external controller as mentioned.

Re: Expresion pedal - Hold/Reset
Hi. I’m new to fantom and enjoy discovering little tips/shortcuts. Press shift and enter and this opens a numeric keypad on the screen. I plugged in a QWERTY keyboard and type the numbers and names in. Just an external numeric pc keypad also works. Plugs into the memory usb. You can use a splitter i...

Re: Roland Fantom and Expression Pedal EV-5
This works, but I am looking to assign a min and max to the pedal for zones in a scene. I tried following: 1. In scene edit I assign the volume pedal 'cc07 volume' with range min 0 and range max 127 - then write the scene. 2. I go to scene zone settings and I set volume 40 to a zone and again write...

Hi. I no longer have my vr09b.
It did not send out cc’s from the drawbars unfortunately.

Re: Joystick modulation reassign to another cc.
I’ve tried turning of local but now I have to use the fantom as an external module which works ok. But I have to set the zones to external and this is making it even more difficult to understand how scenes and zones work on this thing. I’m now using an external controller. Roland please add an assig...

Re: Joystick modulation reassign to another cc.
You can change the CCs for the two wheels. However, I think the joystick is always Pitch Bend and Modulation (CC#1). Depending on your setup, an alternative might be to map the CCs on a computer and send them back to the Fantom. I guess MainStage can do these kind of Midi message transformations. T...
