Re: Have a sample on pad trigger at start and hold
Do you mean while recording with the FA sequencer? If so, there might be a way to do this using the channel assigned to the pads. Typically it's channel 16 but it can be a different. This is set in the general settings. Each pad correspond, to a note on the key board for that channel. I never actual...

Re: Assignable Knobs to Part Volumes?
I might not be getting the point here but here is one thing I'm able to do. I can control the volume of my Korg M1 from the FA knobs. I assing a part to the corresponding MIDI chanel of the M1 and make sure that this channel is set to the Master Keyboard in the Studio Set. Then I assing the knob I w...

Re: TFX on ..want it off ?
In that case to avoid this issue you might be better to create a Studio Set and setup the flanger effect as an IFX instead of the TFX this way when you cchange the Studio Set it won't be on. Personnally for Another Brick in the Wall I use a layered setup with an organ sound and a Hollow Pad in the b...

Re: Ska anyone?
I think the 60's organ, from the list in your last post, with a little tweaking should get you there. This is the one i used and made minor changes to it for Light My Fire by the Doors and itworks well.

Re: Sending HOLD P to external master keyboard
One thing you can try is the following. Take one of the Studio set parts that you don't want to use on the FA. Set the channel to the SL88 channel, turn the Keyboard switch to ON. Then shut off all the notes for this part (like you would to a split but will all notes off) . This way the sound engine...

Re: Roland FA synth audio through USB not works
I know this post is quite old and I don't know if you found a solution on your end but it may help new users...I use Reaper and was able to configure the the FA-for MIDI IN/Out, Audio IN/OUT as well as DAW control (transport functions, and sound modifying). However so far the only was I was able to ...

Re: Display blank, comes on then blinks?
You might want to start your FA in test mode. Press the 5, 7 and 9 keys under the display while turning it on. It opens a menu where you can test the switches, midi functions and a bunch of other things. There is one to test the display. You navigate the menu using the arrow keys. I found out about ...

Expansions and restore
Does anyone know if you restore from a back that that had different expansions than the ones currently in the FA, will the restore change the expansions? or we need to load the expansions seperately from the restore?

Re: How to save TFX when saving a tone?
The TXF is an effect that is applied to the entire keyboard and is not associated to the tone or Studio Set. You have to select it manually when you need it. You can assign to turn it on or off using the S1/S2 switches or the D-Beam. The only effect associated to the tone is the MFX. Then if you don...

Did you validate that the MIDI channel for the SL88 match the channel on the activated (muted) part you want use to play on the FA ?

Re: Remotely trigger PADs
Understood, so in Keyboard Switch mode the samples are not accessible and in sample mode then you only have one studio set combination possible. If you only need 1 sample, you could configure the D-Beam to trigger 1 selected sample. However if you need multiple samples, I don't think you can do it. GP

Re: Remotely trigger PADs
Just curious, I know we can trigger pads from the keyboard (parts 16) of the studio set. Couldn't you just trigger these notes on MIDI channel 16 and start the parts that way? Maybe this doesn't make sense... IDK.

Studio Set program change from external device
HI All, Before buying my FA08. I used the iPhone App iMidiPatchbay to manage all my program changes. It would allow to make splits and layers and splay sond from one synth using the keyboard of another as well as manage typical controls live (hold, volume, attack, release, ...). When my old Korg N1 ...
