Re: How do I select patches>128 on the XV-5080 from SRX card

If you press System > Info (tab), it should be displayed there. If it isn't, then your XV-5080's level is <1.20, in which case you definitely ought to upgrade. :)

Hi Arjan,

It sounds like your XV-5080 might be running an older system OS. Try upgrading to the latest:

Re: Henry VII sounds.....

Henry VIII is a favorite of mine as well. I've never heard how it sounds on the Fantom (X), however.

How does it compare to the XV-5080?

Re: srjv instrument definition files

I wouldn't buy it, personally. If you transfer the SR-JV80-11 patches from the SRX-08 CD to a SmartMedia card, and then assign them to two of the card-banks, it's exactly the same as having the actual SR-JV80-11 board installed. It's the same situation with the Orchestral II board (I didn't catch th...

Re: srjv instrument definition files

Hi Obinno, The Roland-generated INS files are woefully incomplete. Those found on David Green's LilChips website are better, but many are also incomplete. I recently just spent a few days overhauling my own XV-5080 INS file, filling-in all the gaps. Although I'm probably using different expansions t...

Re: SRX sound sharing thread deleted - sorry

We may all discuss what we think about it but the thing is we cannot claim to be what we are... erh... THE Roland Clan, and then aloud a thing that can potentially harm our relationship with Roland and/or 'cause trouble to anyone. Period. This is applicable to all synthesizers, not just those produ...

I didn't see any specific mention of synthesizer patch-data here either. Perhaps I might just missed, o...

Re: SRX sound sharing thread deleted - sorry

Depends on how carefully you read ;-) "You CAN NOT sample preset patches to sell them. " I'm fine with this statement. The sampling of preset waveforms/patches for profit should absolutely be prohibited. But... Nothing I've mentioned has had anything to do with sampling. :) I didn't see t...
