Re: 46 ms latency Juno-G usb!
<t>on my DAW software, under MIDI options, I select 'Roland Juno-G' for the drivers and it gives the latency in millisecs....its approx 46.<br/> <br/> if i use my midi-audio interface driver, the latency is only 5 millisec. however, since i am not recording audio, i just decided to go midi, since on...

Re: Help me decide . Juno-G or Fantom S ?
<t>juno-g sounds cleaner, warmer and of higher quality than fantom-s/x.<br/> <br/> now, the 'synth sounds' programming is almost the same, and the acoustic sounds are better on the Fantom X.<br/> <br/> I am actually talking about the sound quality (character)....many people have noticed this. Fantom...

Re: The Next Fantom (Roland) Workstation?
Korg M3 borrowed a lot of ideas from the older Motif ES, Yamaha Motif ES had firewire, 480 ppq resolution sequencer, part EQs for each of 16 tracks...
the new Motif XS has firewire built in, you don't have to buy as a separate option. Motif XS is da beast!

Re: The Next Fantom (Roland) Workstation?
<t>for all people wanting to replace fantom x w/ m3 or add m3 to fantom x, i will give my personal opinion, because i tried it for an hour, including making tweaks (i owned a triton extreme before).<br/> <br/> i think the korg m3 is good but kinda cheesy, especially the dance sounds are so cheesy. i...

Re: The Next Fantom (Roland) Workstation?
<t>I think the new flagship workstation from Roland should stop using current 'SRX' expansion cards.<br/> <br/> I tried a Motif XS and I was blown away by the internal Waverom. That is the kind of sound that should come built in, not separate. and use expansion (perhaps) to gain access to analog mod...

Re: The Next Fantom (Roland) Workstation?
<t>juno-g definitely sounds more fresh and hip than the fantom-x. motif xs sounds great for acoustic/electronic/pianos/eps, and korg m3 (w/radias esp) sounds good for electronic music.<br/> <br/> juno-g sounds great for vintage synth sounds: try playing a depeche mode or pet shop boys song on the ju...

Re: Yamaha XS quick review
<t>initially when juno-g was released, it was returned at a relatively high rate because of the sustain pedal bug and some other minor bugs. with the release of new os, everything changed, and the juno-g sounds good as ever. <br/> <br/> i feel that motif xs will sell well after an initial period of ...

Re: Yamaha XS quick review
<t>some people are simply fools...they have this high unrealistic expectation of motif xs that its some sort of super synth that can sound the perfect in everything. thats why they return it disappointed because its still a motif at heart.<br/> <br/> let's face it, its not a super synth. its fortay ...

Re: Yamaha XS quick review
<t>i tried out the xs, its a great board, but i don't think it will replace my juno-g.<br/> <br/> vintage roland synth sounds are to die for. but yamaha sure beats all in the quality of their acoustic sounds and arps!!! the arps are amazing. i think i would add the xs to the rig, not sell the juno-g...

Re: New Roland Workstation? ($200 cash back from Roland on F
<t>i won't....this game of the major manufacturers just reboxing their old technology is boring.<br/> <br/> i will buy a new fantom x only if it substantially catches up with the vst world. vst instruments are gaining in both quality and quantity of sound when it comes to boring old hardware. a lot ...

Re: yamaha motif arpeggios
<t>I agree, the roland and korg are behind Yamaha when it comes to acoustic instruments. even though roland is better than Korg.<br/> <br/> Both Roland and Korg sounds more 'produced' (as I have heard people on Yamaha forum say) while the Yamaha is more natural; I think its good to have all the 3 Ja...
