Latching Rotary effect on XR + Organ overdrive
<t>Anyone found a work around to enable the fast/slow setting on the Rotary effect to act as a latch? I'm using a non-latching pedal but it'd be nice to save having to buy another pedal.<br/> <br/> btw i'm using a Fantom XR and a Emu Xboard 49.<br/> <br/> Also, anyone found any good setting for hamm...

Possible to switch XR between Perf & Patch with Midi?
<t>Hi, i'm controlling a Fantom XR with a Kawai MP9500 and i'm wanting to switch between patches and performances with midi. My Kawai sends a Program change and MSB + LSB. Using these I can change between different patches or different performances but what I wanted to do was to switch say from usin...

Re: 16 mfx in Fantom X? Cost?
<t>FantAdam, do you know whether the Fantom actually has three separate mfx chips? I wonder if it has only one and the processing is spread when you enter performance mode. I haven't done any tests to see if you get a drop in quality in performance mode.<br/> <br/> <br/> _________________________<br...

Re: Jazz Scat Vocals
<t>Hey, no worries Steve. It's good enough of you to spend your time and share your work with others. We all know how time consuming writing well constructed patches takes on synths like the Fantom. I'm still tweaking around trying to write something to share.<br/> <br/> <br/> ______________________...

Re: MFX Guitar amp models
<t>Hi Artemio, I have the manual and I see the different pre-amp types but I wonder what things like match drive, BG lead and MS1959I actually refer to. JC-120 i'm familiar with as being the Roland Jazz Chorus amp and I guess that clean twin may be a emulation of the Fender Twin but i've seen a docu...

MFX Guitar amp models
<t>I've seen somewhere an unofficial list of what the Fantom guitar amp algorithms are meant to be modelled on but I can't seem to find it again. I think it was a .pdf file with pictures on of stuff like the Fender twin & bass amps etc Anyone know where I can locate this?<br/> <br/> Also any tip...

Re: Jazz Scat Vocals
<t>You can put me down as someone with a marginal interest in the scat voice. Enough interest that i'm chasing the sound but not enough to actually spend the £ on a whole SRX board just for that one sound.<br/> <br/> SteveePre was gonna come up with something in a past thread but he seems to have go...

Re: Favorite Patches
For a non-real instrument, machine strings is nice.
I find the acoustic guitar patches are real fun to play.

Re: Fantom XR - System Update Question
Last time I spoke to Roland UK they still had some in stock but that was about a month and a bit ago. Try giving them a ring direct they might be able to sort you out.

<t>Nice one jsepeta, it's good to see the people in the Fantom community willing to do things like this.<br/> <br/> I've only just recently started looking into using instrument samples since i've bought my Fantom XR. <t>There's also the GM sound 49 Puff Organ and 164 syn Calliope that could be useful for layering.<br/> <br/> I wonder why you're unable to edit GM sounds? Re: Jazz Scat Voice
Nice one Stevee. It's a bit shady that they don't include that patch on the Fantom, I guess they want you to buy the SRX board to get your hands on it.

<t>I haven't really been through the manual properly and I don't know if you could do this via the front panel but maybe you could set up a velocity switch and have the sound you want only come in over a certain velocity and with no dynamic range.<br/> <br/> Might be annoying if you have to edit all...

Re: Jazz Scat Voice
<t>No way, does it have velocity splits? I've recently bought a Fantom XR and I was slightly dismayed that it didn't have velocity switching. As I gather you can get the velo switched version on an old SR-JV board and also on the orchestral SRX.<br/> <br/> Have you programmed it with user samples? I...

Re: Understanding SRX wave variations
<t>Hi dkpcola, I was listening to the individual samples and it seems that for the ABC variations they are shifting the samples up or down a semitone. I was checking it out the other night so I can't remember exactly what was going on but i'll try listening again and posting with the results.<br/> <...
