Re: Future boutiques

With their terrible track record of firmware updates and bug fixes on the current Boutiques, I couldn't care less what they come out with. I am done with Roland and their new releases.

Re: S-1 five note chord

I have no idea about this particular synth, but it sounds like it only has 4 note polyphony and there will be no way around that, if that is the case.

Re: JD-08 Potential MIDI Bug

Yup, exactly. The same thing happened with me and a report I put in for the TR-06, which contains no SOLO functionality. I inquired about the TR-06 containing no solo functionality, as I was under the impression that it would work the same as it does for the TR-08 and TR-09. The exact same key funct...

Re: TR-06 effects routing

This is a great observation and your methodology makes perfect sense on why you would want this to work, the way you expect. This is exactly how I would want to use it too.

Re: JD-08 Potential MIDI Bug

And here we are, 7 months later. It has been quite some time since I checked, so decided to have a look for a firmware update and nope, still 1.02 for the past 18 months.

Re: TR-09 / TR-08 - No firmware update since ages

I agree. There never really has been an update since release. I think only one release came out and nothing since. Roland are always terrible for firmware updates. There is a bug in the JD-08 for 1.5 years now, that still isn't fixed. Roland is all about making 'new money', not giving to those that ...

Re: Future boutiques

I still have my hardware 707, but would love a Boutique version, with the 727 included. The 707 is really big and bulky and I always wanted a 727, but won't pay $800, like they are being asked for now. both in one, with a smaller footprint, would be awesome. Being that this is all digital, it would ...

Re: Future boutiques

Yes, that was a concept design from Stormchild, a Japanese user. It really is quite a nice mock up and he is a really good guy to talk with.

I can't believe this synth has been out for a year now and this still hasn't been fixed. Very lame.

Re: JU-06A - Chorus - what does it do??

It adds a chorus effect, of two different flavours to your sound. It is the same effect that gave the original Juno 106 its iconic sound. Play a pad sound and enable those to hear the magic!

This! I have an OG 707, but it is quite large, so a smaller form factor, would be great. I have always wanted a 727 as well. Both in one, would be FANTASTIC!

Both are just samples, so it should be pretty easy to pull off, while sounding genuinely legit.

Re: Saving settings on JX-08

This is annoying. Same thing on the JD-08. I really wish it would boot to the last used patch. I love this on my older Romplers, coming right back to where I left off, for quick and easy loading.

If this could be made possible, I would be quite pleased.

Re: JD-08 Potential MIDI Bug

I just wrote Roland about the issue where there is an initialized type sound on MIDI channels 4 & 5 that you cannot access nor turn off. It is annoying while trying tho integrate the JD-08 with my other hardware MIDI devices. It really seems like the JD-08 is half-baked in that area. Thank you ...

Re: JX-08/JD-08 with Hifimediy USB Isolator

I have gone the route of plugging in all my Boutique/USB powered synths, through a passive DI, to fix all my noise problems. The Radial JDI Stereo/Duplex is what I would recommend. They take the unbalanced outputs of the synths and change them into mic level/balanced outputs, with a little warmth fr...
