Good luck with that, fellow JunoDude.
Sorry to belabor the obvious, but Backup might be a good precaution next time.
I use Carbon Copy Cloner, and it's helped a few times, in different situations.

Re: Juno-DS Sound Tweakability
Yes you sure can! Get at everything, inside the box, unlike the older Juno Di where you had to use a computer to do 'deeper' editing. Just press SAMPLE EDIT and DAW MODE buttons simultaneously, and you're in Edit Mode.
Now, either go for it, or read the manual.

Re: Suggestion: to see a knob's Value without Changing It
I didn't know I could! What is the most direct way to make a suggestion to Roland about an existing Product like this one? Thanks. Scott Tibbs is a little slow getting back to me on Twitter, ;) (although we did have dinner once when the V-Piano was launched... very very cool.)

Re: Juno DS
The short answer (which is all I understand so far, though it seems incomplete) is that, unlike in Patch mode where you are given 1 MFX, 1 Chorus and 1 Reverb, in Performance Mode, you have 3 MFX (multi-effects) available, and any Patch in the Performance can go to any or all of those 3 MFX, AND it'...

Re: Is there a COMPARE Function on the DS?
Thanks for the reply, Aaron. Appreciated. I guess I'll try to keep one open INIT Patch so I can Save the edit to that location, and then A <-> B the two.

Suggestion: to see a knob's Value without Changing It
IF you were able to hold down Shift, (or Enter) and move one of the 4 Knobs on this great instrument, and be able to see what its setting was, without actually changing its value by moving it, that would be very cool.

Is there a COMPARE Function on the DS?
After you've edited and tweaked a sound, on a Prophet or a Yamaha, and you're about to Save it with WRITE, there's often a button press you can do before pulling the trigger, so that you can COMPARE it to the unedited sound that you'll be writing over. Does the Juno DS have such a COMPARE function? ...

Thanks DaveNJ - that's GREAT! Should work in Digital Performer too. A lot of work, and much appreciated.

Re: Who (or what) is LS?
This page on a site for the Motif has a lot of explanations of the abbreviations - could it be Lead Synth? http://www.motifator.com/index.php/archive/viewthread/32647/ Hmmm, good thought...but neither that rich smooth strings patch, or the lucid chorus one, is a lead sound or in the synth category....
