Re: Roland Dr 880 saving all patterns
You can always track them via midi into a DAW.

Re: MC-909 Omni Off as sound module
I meant to reply to this earlier, Bonerton.
I had tried turning the Remote Keyboard switch off previously, but I had already transmitted Omni on or off (don't recall) and it didn't work. I tried it again without transmitting CC and it works like a charm. Thanks!

Re: MC-909 Omni Off as sound module
Thanks, I am using the original OS.. Remote Keyboard switch allows me to use a MIDI keyboard as the controller, which also means I was able to send CC#124 as the 909 manual says it allows Omni on/off CC. It didn't work though. I wonder if there is an Omni bug in the original OS? I am hesitant to upg...

Re: MC505 Assigning CC's from external surface
The 909 has the same problem. Look in the 505 manual and see if it has an Omni mode setting. The 909 has one, but still behaves exactly like your 505 after it is activated. I read a post on MPC Forums where someone was using the 909 with their MPC 2500 as master in Omni and claimed it worked, but th...

Re: MV Killer (sorry)
The MV 8800's sequencer has the ability to split a polyphonic drum track into individual tracks per voice, and allows you to apply quantize settings to each voice independently, adding varieties of swing and syncopation with or without the sequencer's groove templates all in real time. The MC 909 ha...

Re: Exporting Roland MC-909 Sounds to a external or flashdri
Here is the MC-909 editor/librarian download for Windows: http://eg.roland.com/support/by_product/mc-909/updates_drivers/1717 You can backup all your SysEx data this way. It's almost as good as doing what you're asking about. If you really wanted a hardcore backup, you could get an XV5050 and duplic...

Re: Creating a slide with the mc 909
Easy. Assuming by slide you mean portamento, just record your melody with Rec Mode set to MIX and when it loops back around punch in the legato with the Legato button. Depending on the patch, you may want to also set it to Solo, and further edit the pitch bend in the Patch Edit TMT parameter menu. I...

Re: V-Synth is still the best for voice manipulation - examp
It's not my responsibility to compensate for the shortcomings of your own example by proving a negative.
Perhaps vague post titles like "V-Synth is still the best for voice manipulation - example" in an excuse to promote your own music simply set the bar too high for worthy discussion.

Re: V-Synth is still the best for voice manipulation - examp
The V-Synth is an amazing synth, but this example sounds like anything you could do with a Korg M3. Not a bad thing.

MC-909 Omni Off as sound module
I've tried switching the Omni mode on the MC with CC#124 from a MPC and from an Axiom keyboard with negative results. When slaved to the MPC, the MC still plays all the MPC's unmuted tracks on whatever MC track is selected, instead of track 1 for 1, track 2 for 2, etc. I can easily use a Korg M3M as...

When I upgraded to Mojave, my DJ-808 (also an Aira device) was not recognized by Serato until I restarted my computer. I did not need to reinstall the driver.

Re: 808 and 909 JOINT BUG REPORT: notes and fx CUT across pa
That's awesome. I don't have an 808 but I might try that on the 909. I never use song mode and assemble anything I make on the 909 into larger projects on other machines.

Re: 808 and 909 JOINT BUG REPORT: notes and fx CUT across pa
I was under the impression that the sustain problem included switching between patterns (even identical ones), not just looping the same pattern. I will be happily surprised if you able to do this successfully.

Re: 808 and 909 JOINT BUG REPORT: notes and fx CUT across pa
Bojketa, I have a 909 and I too wish there was more activity on the board regarding these machines, but they are legacy products now. As such I use my 909 with other samplers. If I want to workaround the lack of sustain issue I sample the phrase into another machine and stop the MC after the bar, le...
