Re: Jupiter-80 OS update Version 2.11
Nico and Spark, have you tried (first saving your sounds) and then resetting the System, then reloading?

Re: DS61 vs. 106
Hi everybody. I've never owned a JUNO before, but I'm looking at buying a DS61. I know Roland included emulations of the 106, but how does a brand new DS61 compare to the original 106? Would it be worth buying an old 106 and doing the servicing myself? What's the difference in sound between the emu...

A Better Keybed Into a Juno DS61
Would anyone dare to implant the keybed from a new Fantom 61 into a JunoDS? Is the width of the 61 notes slightly wider on a Fantom? Would the borders to the left of C2 and to the right of C6 need to be scraped out a little on each side to make the addition room? Aftertouch would be an added plus - ...

Re: Juno DS sound vs. Juno Di Sound
Today I'm experimenting with different KeyTouch settings to make this DS respond sonically more like the Di that I used to own, and that I played last night in a rehearsal studio. A setting of HEAVY +8 (on this DS61) makes it respond a little more like the Di did - no doubt the keybeds are not the i...

Juno DS sound vs. Juno Di Sound
Why does the same patch on a Juno DS sound AND PLAY different than it did on the older Juno Di? I don't think it's the Master EQ, though I've tried compensating with that, lowering 8000Hz, but... Any theories or facts appreciated! Just slightly less brittle on the Di, and a little fatter? Not low ba...

Question - is the Knob Row Saved per Patch?
Is which row of knobs is active (as illustrated by the Select button & light) saved with a patch or a performance?
That would be nice if it is.

Re: Juno-DS Sound Tweakability
You'll find you do a lot of arrowing left and right. Here are some tricks: Hold shift before and while you're turning the big data knob, and the numbers will move much quicker. Same goes for arrowing. If you're at the top line of the display in an edit screen, the right arrow will move to the next T...

Re: How to use Juno DS with a Novation controller (MIDI)
I may be misunderstanding what you're trying to do, but if the Novation is a Midi CONTROLLER keyboard, then, it HAS NO SOUND OF ITS OWN. So wanting it to play a different sound than the Juno is not possible.
Again, maybe I misunderstood your question.

Re: First post... ;-)
The Xm video does look promising. 256 voices? 5080? JX? Juno (hope these include J-60, not just J-106.) Jupiter 8, trumping Jupiter80? Supernatural Pianos from an RD? Aftertouch? New iArpeggiator? What's NOT to like! But of course, we're already finding things, and pontificating about an instrument ...

Re: Yamaha Motif XF Full Grand Piano patch for download
Thank you yannieo - I followed your revised instructions (and waited a long time for the process to finish 100%)- AND it worked for me here, on a Mac, with a Juno DS61. It sounds really nice - a different type of piano sound.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: How to assign knob to distortion for organ performance?
Without going into so much detail as to make you lazy (hahahah) you want to assign Control #16, that's General Control #1, to the parameter - overdrive, drive, or mix, whatever does the closest to what you want. There aren't all that many choices, so hopefully one of the ones that is available will ...

Re: Juno DS, Tone Manager and Axial
as far as I know, you can mix PATCHES, but the underlying SAMPLES that come with the Expansions haven't changed - you can only have one set of Expansion Samples (usually linked to an Axial EXP download.) But in USER Samples, you can create your own Multisamples, as you said. So yes, you can load dif...

Re: Some organs sound awful when pitch is changed
My only thought is YEAH! We have to be very careful of our speakers because changing the Cutoff on one of those (organ) sounds where the resonance is being used, as you say, to create extra or beefier harmonics can make some SERIOUSLY TOO LOUD sounds! :)

Re: Hammering noise in Juno DS 76
I always go with anotherscott's advice - very knowledgeable, and has helped me in many situations. A possible variation on what he said could be that the knock is part of the intentional emulation of the hammer hitting the string in the patch - but when you are recording MIDI, you are creating a mid...
