Re: Is there a COMPARE Function on the DS?
Yes, and Korgs have it too. My previous Rolands had it (the D10 and D50 for example), so I sort of took it for granted when I bought my Juno-DS, and was disappointed to find this feature missing. Increasingly it seems to me, that keyboards are designed by the marketing departments rather than by mus...

Re: effects in Performance mode
In patch mode, you have the main assignable MFX (compressor, rotary spkr, flange, distortion, delay, etc.) a choice of 80 effects. The output from the MFX is optionally fed into 'Chorus' and/or 'Reverb'... so you can have up to three effects.

Some organs sound awful when pitch is changed
I notice that some organs (such as D.Bar Org 5) use resonant filters to give extra harmonics. If I transpose to (say) +3 they sound fine, but if I change the pitch in patch edit or performance edit, they sound hideous as I suspect, the Wave(s) are being pitch shifted but not the filters. I want a pe...

Re: Sustain doesn't Fade Out
As others have suggested, the sustain pedal behaviour you want is quite possible. It's just that conventionally, some voices such as organs are gated; ie. either on or off. If you press sustain, you just hold the 'on', until you release it. The Juno DS factory organ sounds tend to follow this conven...

Re: Lack of compare feature
Agreed... I have it on my X3 and Z1, but also on my Technics KN3000 workstation. My last Roland synth was a D10, and that had it too.joelfan wrote:That is a feature that we can usually find on Korg workstations.
It's not difficult to implement and very useful, so it's an odd omission on the DS.

Lack of compare feature
In Patch Edit, am I right in thinking that there's no way to compare the 'before' and 'after' sounds before saving the edited patch?
This is something I've taken for granted in my keyboards for best part of 30 years. Seems like quite an oversight by Roland....

Re: Juno DS61 weird pitch-bend behaviour
I'm surprised that no-one has come up with any suggestions in the two weeks since this was posted... doesn't anyone do any patch programming any more?! Anyway, I found the answer in the patch's effects... not in the patch itself. On the Effect's MFX CTRL page, the Pitch Bend was set to change the Ch...

Juno DS61 weird pitch-bend behaviour
Hi everyone... I'm new to this forum having just bought my first Roland for 25 years! I'm seriously impressed with the feature list, but I'm just getting my head into the DS voice architecture and I have a question... some sounds like Strat Gtr 1 (GT:021) have a weird pitch bend behaviour; it bends ...
