External MIDI routing / Master Keyboard / Program change on Pad Groups - advice needed
I'm trying to achieve the following goals: 1. Use my external synth, with MIDI keytar controller playing either FA track sound or external synth sound, fully set up on loading a Studio Set for a specific song. Right now I can either use a keytar to always play the external synth, or mute external sy...

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
Just an update: I could not solve this issue. Ferrite cores on both USB and audio cables, and new USB cable did not help. Now I have to resort to using old-fashioned MIDI cables to control the synth, there is no noise with that. But it ties down extra MIDI interface and I can't control DAW that way,...

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
Unfortunately my cable has to be 3 meters and I can't change that distance. So that one would not work for me. Well, I have ordered a 3M cable with ferrite choke on Ali Express, plus separate ferrite chokes to slap on the second side of the cable, and on my audio cables coming from the synth. Will s...

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
Did you see my post before that one regarding the USB cable fixing my noise issue? Ah, OK, I really missed your post :-) Does it look something like this? http://r.ebay.com/cNN6CE Does it have ferrite cores at both ends? How long is it? Maybe I'll get one and see if it improves the noise levels.

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
Did you see my post before that one regarding the USB cable fixing my noise issue? No, what post was that? BTW I was able to sort of solve the issue: first I rewired all electrical cords, unplugged everything leaving just UPS, PC, audio interface and Roland FA, all plugged directly to UPS - that di...

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
There must be something in Sonar to adjust that, many DAW's you can disable the recorded delay compensation Funny thing is that there is a PDC button to disable delay, but it disables it everywhere, which breaks all the mix and VST processing etc. There is no button to control it over individual tr...

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
FA is built to control DAW (play/record etc.) which it can only do via USB (as it has 3 MIDI interfaces, not 1), plus my old-school MIDI ports are occupied by Mackie Control. I can't unplug USB as then I can't control DAW and can't play and record MIDI tracks. This is such a trivial task, FA is buil...

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
Here it is on Amazon that should work with Prime: http://a.co/3GNNAg1 I'm in Canada so can't buy it. I would appreciate if you let me know if you buy it, try it and share the results. The chipset use in this and all similar devices only supports "full speed" and "low speed" USB, ...

Re: Audio noise when USB is connected
Yes, that's correct. The noise is present in analog "line out" signal, when USB is used for MIDI. It's quite loud to be clearly audible when there is no music. It appears as soon as USB is connected to Roland. I sounds like a ground loop problem. The question is if an existing solution for...

Audio noise when USB is connected
I have loud audio noise on audio out when USB is connected to PC. Looks like a ground loop. Does anyone use ADUM3160 or ADUM4160 based USB ground isolator with Roland? Will USB interface work correctly when put through such device? It's not USB2.0 compatible, so it may not work, so I'd like to know ...
