Same here, I have pre-ordered the 73...here's hoping it lives up to the quality of the JP-80!

Re: Probably a silly question but ....

The only thing you might experience is increased noise, balanced outputs are used to reduce interference.

Re: V1 and V2 Sounds together

I prefer the V1 sounds to V2, are the live sets different or just the registrations?

Re: Just hoppin' in to say...

Which leads us to the unique character of the Jupiter-80. Yes the architecture takes some getting used to, but once under the hood, it has the sonic ability to build some breathtaking collections of Tones. OK so I purposely steered away from the term Registration which has just never sat well with ...

Re: Bit Depth and Frequency of JP80 Coaxial Digital Out?

Does the JP-80 auto switch it's digital out frequency based on the audio interfaces rate? I've not seen that behaviour in any other synth, it has to be set manually. I'm currently running it at 44.1 but I'll test what happens when I change the settings on my quad capture. If you must use a converter...

Re: JP80 as multitimbral soundsource

It would be nice if Roland could offer an update of a multi-timbral mode where you have 10 midi channels, 1 per tone so you have individual control over each tone...this will never happen but it would be useful =) Why would you want to give up the power of live sets for a whole bunch of simple tone...

Re: Soon to be Jupiter-80 owner.

I switched the Kronos on about 4 times in all, one of those times it failed to boot with a USB error...nothing had ever been plugged in the USB. I should receive the JP-80 tomorrow according to the tracking...should have been last Saturday but there's been a problem with a duplicate label (UPS). Kro...

Soon to be Jupiter-80 owner.

Hi all, Recently I traded in a few pieces of gear, one of which was a VSynth-GT...although I loved the sound of the VSynth I found that it wasn't taking a prominent role in my music. I had two keyboards on my list, the Korg Kronos X61 and the JP-80. In error it turns out, I went for the Kronos. I lo...

Re: A-800 Pro Aftertouch

<t>Thanks PauloF. <br/> <br/> No matter what aftertouch curve I select the aftertouch does not kick in until I put a lot of pressure on the keys...too much for everyday keyboard playing. <br/> <br/> Roland UK replied to me saying, <br/> <br/> The aftertouch is indeed a little harder to activate on t...

A-800 Pro Aftertouch

<t>I have recently bought this controller keyboard and the aftertouch is very hard to trigger, you really need to push down hard on it to get any response. <br/> <br/> Pushing down on the end of the key means you are close to snapping the keys off before you get a response, pushing down in the middl...

Re: Sight-Reading Versus Playing-By-Ear Survey

I once tried playing a solo piano duet by this method, you know, two pianos keyboard to keyboard with me in the middle.

But what with the cauliflower ears and sea sickness I had to give it up.

Re: Sight-Reading Versus Playing-By-Ear Survey

<t>I'm going to guess that most people would prefer to play by ear perfectly. <br/> <br/> Sure reading music and playing Chopin etc. must be great but surely most people want to create their own music and if they make up a song in their head they want to instantly transfer this to the keyboard. <br/...

It's true to say that Yamaha have gone downhill ever since they fudged the launch of the new Mofti XS.

Re: What's your favourite style creation and why ?

I suppose you would class me as electronic.

But I go where the music takes me, I love orchestral, I love progresive rock, I even love flamenco.

For me it is all down to what mood I am in at the time I feel creative =)
