Re: Very low output volume

Setting the volume levels can be quite difficult. When layering it takes time. Sometimes, with certain patches, it does sound lower than it should, especially through head phones. Putting it through the MX1 boosts everything but thats another £400 gone, although I would recommend it. So, I agree, i...

Re: New Front Panel Overlay coming for JD-XA

I was hoping for one of those aftermarket ones that Synthgraphics made...but it sounds like he did a very limited run and he is notoriously unresponsive. I emailed Roland support and got an instant response with an overlay in the mail! We'll see if it actually arrives. I bought my JDXA used and was ...

Re: Excessive background noise on some factory patches ?

I just noticed some pretty damn bad background noise (clicks, pops, bad distortion) when I run the digital oscillator through the analog filter...it's unlistenable, and I fear it is a defect. Unfortunately I got my board used and so am most likely screwed from what I hear...

Re: JDXA is my first synth...tips?

Ok, for anyone needing a FULL basic tutorial on how to shape sounds on the JDXA this guy's video is excellent! You'll need to turn on English subtitles, but he obviously knows his way around synths and specifically the JDXA here.

Re: JDXA is my first synth...tips?

Thanks Jdoo! I bet that works great. I'm sitting in the lodge at my kid's ski lesson all day, but am pumped to get to work this evening. I also found a nice enthusiastic Japanese dude from Roland (I think) doing tutorial vids on youtube. I'm sure you've all seen it but just in case: https://www.yout...

Re: JDXA is my first synth...tips?

Well I plugged in last night and actually got some fun sounds just from presets even tho most folks have complained about the lack of quality presets. Granted, I only played for a little while. I did have a complete fail in trying to get down to basics with the analog voices. I tried the "shift...

Re: JDXA is my first synth...tips?

Also, anyone know if Synthgraphics will be doing another run on those sweet matte overlays? I want one bad!

It seems he's kind of hard to nail down...

Re: New Front Panel Overlay coming for JD-XA

I just ordered a JDXA and am also interested in the quality overlays from synthgraphics. Please let me know if/when you do another run!

JDXA is my first synth...tips?

Hey all...synth newbie here. I've been playing music for over 25 years and studying piano/keyboards heavily for the last 4 years. I've recently caught the analog synth bug in a major way and finally saved enough cash for what I hope will be a good learning tool...the JDXA. It started when a buddy lo...
