Re: "the file data is invalid" error in VST librarian
I don't have those migration event errors in my driver for the System-8 on Windows 10. So I don't believe that is the root cause. I still can't import / export patch data to and from the S8 hardware (v1.30) and the S8 plugout (v1.31). And Roland has provided no means in which to downgrade the plugou...

Re: TR-8S : 2019 Feature Request
+2 on being able to just sample the ext input directly from the TR-8s.
Having to do it via a computer->SDcard->import is a bit cumbersome and not an effective workflow IMO.

Re: "the file data is invalid" error in VST librarian
yup, same problem here and reported by a couple other users on the FB group. Roland needs to either release an updated System 8 VST that still supports the 1.30 firmware of the hardware, or they need to release a new firmware for the hardware that supports the v1.31 VST.

Re: Strange instrument playback phasing issue
Disregard. Figured it out. The new 808 kits in the TR-8S are an updated model from the ones in the TR-8. You can actually call up the old TR-8 808 kit model in the TR-8S and it behaves like the TR-8. The snare model on the TR-8 doesn't have as much decay as the TR-8S snare model does (at max setting...

Strange instrument playback phasing issue
Ive looked aroubd online and haven't seen any reports of this. I recently picked up a TR-8S to replacr my TR-8. I spent a good bit of time manually recreating some of my patterns (and sound settings) fron the TR-8 to the TR-8s. And I noticed some odd differences in the 808 model. In particular there...

Re: Update issue?
Ok, I think I nailed it. And it looks more like a flat out bug. If you have a patch (any patch) in "mono" voice mode, and you hold down a key and then play another key (lowest priority), that note will get cut off immediately if you start changing a parameter. Doesn't matter which paramete...

Re: Promars, SH-2 and System-100 now available
I just tested all the plug-outs and they worked beautifully. Thank you Roland! Now, may we hope for a JX-3P emulation, please???? I like all analog synthesizers from Roland. I wish JX-3P/8P, Juno-60/Alpha, Jupiter-4/6 plug-outs. Thanks. I could see them releasing plug-outs for the following synths ...

Re: Promars, SH-2 and System-100 now available
They've somewhat shot themselves in the foot by having only 1 ACB slot left for expansion. I haven't tried it yet, but I thought I recall reading that you can load other plug-outs into ACB slots 1 & 2 where the JP-8 and 106 exists. They aren't permanently eliminated. They are "hardwired&qu...
Re: Templates
The corresponding control lighting for each plug-out works great for me. Don't really see a need for an overlay/template.
Just my 2cents.

Edit Recall
Anyone else think this would be helpful? I've had a few instances where I lost a new patch built from the ground up because I accidentally hit one of the preset buttons before writing to memory. Using the "manual" button doesn't provide a good solution since there could be parameters that ...

^ yup, that sounds more like it. Should be an easy fix for them. Just better handling of memory / buffer allocation.

Re: Gain-Staging / Overdrive / Saturation
I will post some more details later, but at the moment, it appears that any values above 110-120 for the individual OSC mixer levels starts to get into overdrive/saturation of the filter and starts to change the overall response of the filter, resulting in some nice coloration and "dirt" a...

Re: Gain-Staging / Overdrive / Saturation
All good. And it's not soo much an "issue", but more so an annoyance with no real way to visually check your levels internally. Sometimes you want the dirt & grime created from saturation/overdrive, sometimes you don't. And especially not on the master output. Adding some "digital...
