I found some combos of settings I think I can use.

Thanks ski ... I have an ac steel string selected with strum enabled and using chord mode works great. If there was a keyswitch or something to get up strokes I would be in business.

How does one get passable guitar strums, both down and up, out of these things? I'm a guitar player and wannabe keyboard player. The FA (06) is a great song writing tool for me, but it would be much better if I could semi-realistic guitar strums out of this thing without spending hours twiddling MID...

Quick check before I order ... half damping works with this connected to the FA?

In general, I think it would be insane to pay Roland to fix bugs. OTOH, depending on what the functions/features are, I might part with $$ for an update that adds significant new functionality. Off the top of my head, I would really like to be able to transfer files to/from my DAW without physically...

Thanks. I must be dense. I don't see how to apply Part Init to a user rhythm group.

After several experiments, some successful some not, I would like to reinitialize the patterns in a user rhythm group. How do we do that?

You could add silence to the beginning and/or end of your sample(s) to make the actual sound start/end on any beats you want them to

I knew exactly what the capabilities and limitations are before I bought an FA06 a couple of weeks ago. I was quite pleased when the price dropped $200US. With another 15% discount thru MF, I got a shiny new one for $850. I can't imagine trying to work on the FA from tracking, mixing, small-m master...
