Re: Juno DS76 pattern sequencer and split not possible?
I wish someone would write an open letter to Roland Management that could explain how their nickel and dime pricing attitude have ruined a perfectly functional MIDI Workstation and crippled both the MIDI and Sequencing abilities of what could have been an instant classic bedroom workstation. The ina...

Re: How to achieve constant "drone" sound on DS
I just tested it on my DS88 and it works, but you cannot reassign the Sustain pedal to Sostennuto. You can, however, reassign the CC Pedal to Sostenuto. So in order to make this work you need a Roland EV-5 continuous pedal attached or something similar from another manufacturer.

Re: How to achieve constant "drone" sound on DS
In theory it should be possible if you assign the Sustain Pedal to Sostenudo Mode. Then it will only hold the notes that are played when you simultaneously dpepress the pedal and none of the subsequent notes.

Anyone Out There Havve a Cakewalk INS file for the TR-808?
Just wondering if anyone out there has a Cakewalk INS file for a TR-808 or 909?
Or even if anyone has created one for the newer TR-8 or TR-8S?

Juno DS Cakewalk INS File
Other people did all the heavy lifting, but today someone asked me for help and I cleaned up the file and added Juno Di drumkits to it. Here is a working Juno DS Cakewalk INS File that contains both patches and drumkits and seems to be pretty much debugged and working as it should. Feel free to modi...

Re: Juno DS Update 2.10 Breaks Generic Driver???
In my case I already had a backup from the DS61 which I installed with no problem into the DS88.
Without a backup of your patches though you'd be screwed.

Re: Juno DS Update 2.10 Breaks Generic Driver???
Problem was resolved. Upgrade took more than a simple reboot to work properly. It required a full factory reset.

Re: Juno DS Update 2.10 Breaks Generic Driver???
BTW, is there any way I can safely revert to the 2.00 firmware from 2.10 and if so where can I find the file? It turns out I do not have the file archived anywhere and Roland does not list earlier firmwares on their website. I am finding this to be extremely frustrating as I now have zero connectivi...

Re: Juno DS Update 2.10 Breaks Generic Driver???
You can add to the ticket that the update breaks both USB AND 5 Pin Din MIDI Ports as well.
Just received an interface and ran a test.

Thanks. I made the swop for a second hand unit so technically it's out of warranty now.

Re: Sonar Cakewalk INS file available
The best place to post any Cakewalk INS File is as pasted inline text on the Cakewalk User Forums. Someone else has already uploaded a partial INS file for the Juno DS in this thread. http://forum.cakewalk.com/midi-brain-freeze-m3473757.aspx I'd advise merging your file with his so that it include...

Juno DS Update 2.10 Breaks Generic Driver???
Hi, I owned a Juno DS61 for a while that I traded in for a DS88. On the 61 I had firmware 2.04 loaded up just fine. When I received the 88 the only firmware upgrade available was 2.10 and the unit came with 1.60 so naturally I updated. Everything went smoothly. What I've noticed now is that the 2.10...

Re: Cakewalk Instrument Definition INS File For JD-X1
Regrettably I no longer own a JD-Xi however, the easiest way to add a block of new voice names to an INS file is to do a block copy and paste from a text file with the additional file names into the INS using an editor which is capable of block copy and paste. On Linux I use Kate. Dunno what's avail...
