Re: VK Rotary sounds like bad vibrato

update: I figured out how to adjust the VK Rotary settings in single mode. I'm getting better results now. I found I could reduce the 'vibrato' type sound and get a more realistic rotary sound by not using the S1 switch, but instead turn the modulation knob while playing. This sounds more natural/re...

VK Rotary sounds like bad vibrato

The VK Rotary is a superb effect, I use it on the RD700GX for organ. Sounds amazing. However, it sounds odd on my Fantom G7. It sounds like a bad vibrato. When I try and edit the VK Rotary, I can only adjust the Slow and Fast speeds with the four knobs, but no other setting. And adjusting the slow a...

Can the pedal turn Zone switch off/on?

When I'm playing and need to turn a zone switch off/on, it would be easier to use a pedal than taking hands off the keyboard. Can the pedal turn off/on the zone switches? Possible? how? didn't see a setting in for it in the FC1 and FC2 in setup.

Re: A look inside the Fantom- pics when I replaced the displ

You went through all that trouble and risked your board because of a couple of scratches?

the scratches were my fault when the day after I bought a used Fantom in mint condition, I then bumped it against my desk, causing the dents. I was upset!

A look inside the Fantom- pics when I replaced the display f

My display frame was dented so I decided to try and replace it myself. I've put PC's together and I've even opened up digital keyboards before- I replaced the keyboard pressure tube once in my old Clavinova. I found it wasn't too bad, and if you are experienced with replacing motherboards, you can d...

Re: Ok I'm definitely certifiable!!!!

I'm curious to hear the "70's suitcase sound" from the OP, any way to share the settings (easily)? or provide a mp3 sample?

Re: how to replace the molding around the screen?

for removing the adhesive, go to a hobby store and buy a spray can called motor spray or nitro cleaner. they are basically same cleaners and they will remove adhesives very effectively. i use it all the time in my garage for my car things. :) thanks, as long as it doesn't remove paint, just the sti...

Re: how to replace the molding around the screen?

Stevo wrote: Would like to know how you get on in case I need to replace my loose frame in the future. Hope it's not as difficult as I imagine. There are six screws that hold the display frame to the top of the kb. You'll have to dissemble everything (except possibly the button board) as I just did ...

Re: how to replace the molding around the screen?

To access the inside- I set the Fantom upside down on some couch pillows, and removed the bottom (don't have to remove the sides). Here's a pic of the Fantom upside down with bottom removed. You can see the main board on the left, and the IO board on the right. I had to remove those to access the di...

Re: how to replace the molding around the screen?

<t>Well I got it all open and got the old frame unit removed! However, the plastic 'glass' that protects the display was glued to the old frame, and I finally got it removed, but the glue will not come off around the edges of the 'glass', even with goo-gone. I'm letting it soak now with goo-gone for...

Re: how to replace the molding around the screen?

<t>I got my frame. It's plastic with silver paint, ready to install. Wish it was made of metal because the plastic is not a real hard plastic- it's slightly bendable (shows why it's easy to get nicks). It has about 10 screw hole posts on the back. Will try and replace tomorrow. I'll take pics of the...
