Re: filter problem

Hang on a minute. Are you going through each yellow part 'on button' as each sound will be a different polysound. What are you doing exactly?

Re: Help: No stereo effects or panning, but clicks and pops

I'd try reinstalling the latest firmware from Roland's website and then do another factory reset. If that doesn't cure it then sounds like you have a faulty unit. Did you try with headphones?

Re: OS update coming soon?

Use 'masterkeysft' to transpose the sequencer. Easy.

Re: OS update coming soon?

There's a lot of refining that needs doing to the XA OS. A few things that bug me. 1. Theres a bug in the analogue section where if you hold a drone note in the bass and move around a 3 note chord played legato in your right hand the bass note cuts out, however it only does this if you play legato, ...

Sequencer Transpose using 'Masterkeysft'

Just a quick tip. Though we can't transpose sequences using the keyboard (yet,) if you go into the system menu and use the 'masterkeysft' parameter, you can transpose your sequences with the +/- buttons. Not ideal, but it does work well. I make whole sequences in my XA, then record transposed versio...

Just use the partial 'on' buttons to switch them on or off.

Re: Split keyboard with arpreggiator on?

Press and hold the arpeggio button. You'll see each parts 'on' button light up yellow. This denotes if the arp is on for each part. If it lights yellow that part will be arpeggiated. If off the arp wont affect the part. Turn a parts arp switch off, simply click and hold the arp button and hit any of...

Re: Sequencer from hell - alternatives?

The more people that mention these things to Roland, the more chance of an update. I believe they are listening, in fact I know they are. I asked about the longer pattern thing and was told it's due to memory/processor constraints but it wasn't a firm no. But also using different scales and tempos y...

Re: Sequencer from hell - alternatives?

Could you be more specific? What's not working for you sequencer-wise?

Step Record Parameter Recording

So in the manual, it's clearly stated that you can record knob movements in step record mode to a specific step of your choosing. I've tried in vain to get this working. Can anyone explain it a little better? Should step record light be on or off, should the sequence be playing or not? If step recor...

Re: The supersaw oscillator

Dont forget you can use the analogue section to do this.

Use all 8 oscillators set to saw, detuned a little, there you go!

Re: OS update coming soon?

there are 256 preset spaces on board.
all will be overwritten with the new 256 presets from the 1.50 update.

so, you must backup the entire memory to USB stick, update to 1.50 then load your backup back to the JDXA.

Re: OS update coming soon?

Roland are pretty cryptic and take a long time to update their OS's for their products. The RC505 for example came out 3 years ago and is only just getting a major update. Potentially, it could be another 2 years until we see any update for the JDXA based on this (same design team as the JDXA afaik)...

Synth graphics are doing preorders now for a 2nd run of the overlays. 4-6 weeks until they're back in stock.
