Re: Pad mode control via MIDI
Cheers for that. It's what I thought too. But if anyone knows different it would be great to know!

Pad mode control via MIDI
Does anybody know if it's possible to change the pad mode with a MIDI message? I generally have the pads set to Part Mute, but occasionally use Sample Play mode. I change patches using a combination of Set List Maker on a Galaxy Tab2 and messages from my Nord Stage 2 EX. So I select the song on the ...

Re: How to keep the glossy FA surface clean?
I contacted a graphics firm and got this reply: "Good news, we can certainly produce a matt overlay with the graphics reproduced. Not so good news, unfortunately its not going to be cheap. Us drawing new artwork: We would need to have the Roland FA06 here so that we could measure the position o...

Re: How to keep the glossy FA surface clean?
Just found this thread. I would love to change the panels to a bright red to match my Nord, but might be interested in other designs - anything to get rid of the ridiculous glossy dust attracting panels! Myrk - I'm an architect in UK and use CAD. Would you be willing to share your CAD drawing so tha...

Re: Newbie question - help with sound levels
Doesn't work! It does alter the velocity sensitivity, but also seems to lower the overall velocity too, so that it seems like you are playing softer, which is kind of the opposite to what I want to achieve. What I want is to be able to have a sound where if I hit the key as hard as possible, the not...

Brilliant. Thanks.
I'll try that out tomorrow.

Re: Newbie question - help with sound levels
It's not the loudness of the sounds that is the problem, it is the variation of loudness due to how hard you hit the keys that is the problem. If I was designing a synth it would have a single value for touch sensitivity for each part that you could easily adjust, but this doesn't seem to be the cas...

Re: Why did you buy an FA 6 ?
Late entry I know but thought I would add my thoughts! I play in a covers band so need versatility, but I was fed up of lugging around my G6 and Motif XS7 - both awesome but just too heavy. So swapped out for a Nord Stage 2 Ex and FA06 - about 1/3 of the weight overall so my back is happier! I chose...

Thanks. Wouldn't be much to see - just my fat fingers on a tiny little keyboard lol! ;)

Re: Is the JX-03 being overlooked?
Wasn't any choice for me - I used to own a JX3P so had to have a JX03 :) And not disappointed - it's a cracking little synth. My only grumble is the 4 note polyphony, where the JX3P had 6. When playing it on the K25M it isn't too big a deal, but playing it through MIDI from a full size keyboard is m...

Re: Newbie question - help with sound levels
Hi I have the same issue with touch sensitivity and wondered if you had worked it out yet! I'm also in a covers band and use a wide range of sounds. Got my FA06 a few weeks ago and been programming it and can't seem to be able to reduce the sensitivity. Sounds are much better than I expected (hadn't...

Re: Has an era ended at Roland?
I think suggesting it's the end of an era at Roland is possibly slightly over-egging it, and agree with a previous post that standards are declining in other manufacturers too. I have owned various Roland synths and currently have a Fantom G6, which is awesome and built like a tank. But I will soon ...

Re: Registrations enabled
FWIW, the "Forest is to lawn..." anti-bot question, had me stumped (no pun intended). It might actually be easier for a well prepared spam bot to get in here than a mere half assed amateur musician, like myself... I consider myself to be fairly intelligent, and I was very close to giving ...

Re: JX3P old preset D13
Thanks! If I do find it I'm definitely getting a lottery ticket lol I think the key to the sound was a combination of cross modulation and LFO which gave it a rhythmic "vibrato" effect. I also programmed it on an old Ensoniq SQ2 as well but that's also long gone! I am extremely tempted by ...
