Can anyone confirm please?
I tried all the cables I could get my hands on with the same results.
The noise in NOT coming from the FX units, as plugged in-line between the synth and the channel input generates no noise at all.

Exactly the same problem here.
The level of noise very high.

Very possibly you have the MX1 in EXT mode.

Dropping the sample rate to 44.1 helps as well. The default 96 is a drain on the processor.

IMHO the boutiques will be released as plug-outs at some point, just like System-1 plugin has been made available. No reason NOT to do it, even if just for stand alone plugin-only users. Try this:
Hold SYSTEM1 and PLU-OUT buttons and turn the arp TYPE dial:
1 - External MIDI only
2 - Keyboard and external MIDI
3 - No sound, only MIDI OUT.

1,2,3 are the LEDs around the pitch ring.

Sadly, yes. With cutoff set to zero there's no modulation at all.
How do we (all unhappy users) send a message to Roland gods to fix this?
