Re: Old Roland sound
I'm pretty sure that sound is from the JV-1080 and related modules or XP-80 and related keyboards.

Re: Whats a jx1 worth, what makes them so Popular still
I keep seeing this and nobody has answered after months so I will.
Nobody goes nuts for them.
It has a handful of nice, usable sounds but it's pretty limited as a 30 year old synth that was entry level in its day.

Re: Is xp50 = JV1080+keyboard?
Yes, both have all the same sounds. The sound engine is the same.
XP-50 adds keyboard and sequencer. The JV-1080 has multiple outputs.

Re: FA-06 Vs XP 50 key action
I have had my XP-50 since it was released in 1996(?). Pretty decent key action. I bought several Fantom series along the way, mostly nice key actions. But user interface never worked for me. Then the FA-06 came along. I bought it immediately and I use it as my main performance synth a couple times a...

Re: is the JX-3p PLUG-OUT ever coming ?
I had come to the conclusion that Roland was not going to release any more Plugouts. It has been that story time and time again over the past 20 years. They come up with a cool new platform, so much promise and possibilities for expansion, then dead end. But I came to same conclusion about System-50...

Re: 2.1 (or 2.5, or 3.0) Update Wish List!
I wish the Rotary effect would work properly in mono. It sounds good in stereo (basically the same as my VR-09) but terrible in mono. (The VR-09 sounds good in mono).

I wish the current blinking pad would blink in time with the current tempo clock.

Re: Leslie
Are you connected in Stereo or Mono? The Leslie effect sounds great in stereo. But it sounds terrible when connected in Mono. It's a bug in the FA as far as I'm concerned. I have a VR-09 and the effects sounds basically the same in stereo but the VR-09 works fine in Mono while the FA does not. Years...

Re: Free FA Overlays from Roland
Give the rest of Roland a chance to catch up. This is probably an initiative started by Roland US. The other countries might make the same offer in the near future, like they did with the other overlays. I sure hope so. I want a set for mine here in Canada.

Re: Jx-03 only 16 user locations ?
Actually, the JX-3P has 32 memory locations, 16 in Bank C and another 16 in Bank D.iixorb wrote:... And it's a shame that they've kept the same 16 slot limitation of the JX3P...
The JX-03 should have at least 32 IMO.

Re: How are your FAs doing so far?
There is a lot to like about the FA. Great sound overall and a great feature set. I have a few gripes. The patches taken directly from XP-50/80 are thin. They sound noticeably fuller on my XP-50. EQ helps to solve most of that. The rotating speaker effect is terrible in mono. In stereo, it sounds ve...

Re: jp08 editor for MAC OSX (not browser based)
Get used to web based synthesizer editors. A lot more editors and other music software will be done that way. It is so much easier to develop a Web MIDI API based editor than making an App for Windows and an App for OSX. Only Chrome works for now but Firefox implementation is probably to come soon. ...
