Re: Importing from FA-06/07/08
This includes studio sets also? I’ve programmed about 450 studio sets. I was wondering if there is anything I can copy over when I want to upgrade to a Fantom-0? I understand that the preset sound layout is different but I wonder if I can do something to minimize the tremendous programming work when...

Re: Rhythm Patterns ONLY 20 User sets!!!
Enfurio, maybe a typical entertainer keyboard is a better choice for you. Did you consider that? Like the Roland BK or Yamaha PSR or Korg PA style keyboards. FA is a studio and live perfoming board. On the other hand, if you have 350 songs, which require individual drum patterns/tracks, and you are...

Re: Rhythm Patterns ONLY 20 User sets!!!
If a song only needs one beat and you don`t really need a fill-in, you can make a sample loop out of it and trigger it on a sample pad. In a live situation triggering different samples for each song for me is asking for trouble. I want to mute the sample that is playing automaticly as soon i trigger...

Re: Rhythm Patterns ONLY 20 User sets!!!
Maybe I'm not understanding the 20 user slots thing (please forgive me if so) - but if I select an ending or intro (or whatever) I see 120 user slots available? What you refer too are individual midi drum patterns. i was talking about clusters (intro, verse1, fillin1 etc.). 120 individual patterns ...

Re: Rhythm Patterns ONLY 20 User sets!!!
technobob13, you are perfectly right. it`s ridiculous! i was VERY stunned to find out we have only 20 user pattern sets. i can`t even believe it and still think i`m overlooking something... Do i? I work with about 400 songs that i do as a piano entertainer. i`m relying on backing drums. The preset d...

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
Again, samples are stored in the song. You cannot save samples with studio sets. I know this, what i ment was that the lights on the pads only highlight the samples i want to use in a specific studio set. If i load a song containing all samples for all the studio sets the pads will all be highlight...

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
So that leaves me with just one question.. If i make all samples availeble for the studio sets (i make a studio sets for all songs i do) is there a way to assign just a few samples to the pads PER studio set? Some songs (studio sets in my case) only need 3 or less samples. It would be great if i can...

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
I just recieved my new FA06. I was thinking why not make studio sets for all songs i do. I can make just one studio set and copy it for all the songs and adjust some things for each song seperately. It will be a very time consuming thing but having to write 3 or more strings of midi for every song c...

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
Is there a setting that makes rhythm patterns global (like tempo setting) so that drums won`t be interupted/changed in any way by choosing a different studio set? i ordered my FA06 today, i will have it tomorrow... :) Lets do this!

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
First there's a setting to make tempo global instead of connected to studio sets. I suspect that'll be more useful to you if you're reusing a handful of studio sets. It sure seems like it! I switched to a random studio set and random drum rhythm. I brought the rhythm pattern display up on the scree...

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
This is becoming more complex every day.. I wait a few days before ordering my FA06 and make sure this will work in my situation. Having to change tempo manually is not that big of deal actually. I can write the tempo down on every PDF that i load in Onsong or I can even TAB the tempo on the board. ...

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
Aha interesting.. I would probably use the pads to trigger house beat samples and use the rhythm patterns for all other music genres. I downloaded the midi implementation sheet to see if i can send midi data to choose a studioset and rhythm pattern seperately (not a drum pattern that is part of a st...

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
Yes, the pattern is associated with the studio set, as is the drum kit. Have a look at the "MIDI Implementation" at http://www.roland.com/products/fa-06/downloads/ Looks like there's MIDI addresses for Rhythm bank/pattern/variation, for "key trigger," and for drum kit selection....

Re: Functionality FA06/08 rhythm patterns.
-The drum tracks are WAY too loud compared to everything else, you have to dial back channel 10 in every studio set. So the drum pattern is saved as soon you save the studioset and set to channel 10? That would indicate to me that the drum section is not separate and cannot be midi controlled separ...
