I know this, what i ment was that the lights on the pads only highlight the samples i want to use in a specific studio set. Yes, the pattern is associated with the studio set, as is the drum kit. Have a look at the "MIDI Implementation" at http://www.roland.com/products/fa-06/downloads/ Looks like there's MIDI addresses for Rhythm bank/pattern/variation, for "key trigger," and for drum kit selection....
