oops... never mind
<r>Closing this window I saw the DM20 .pdf manual and I looked right into it: Digital input select switch... it was on the optical side instead of on the coax side. <br/> <br/> It sounds great btw, even with a non-coax cable <E>8-)</E><br/> Not super monitors, but a lot of fun and clean sound for 12...

Digital out problems
<t>I bought 2nd hand Roland DM-20 monitors. They also have a s/pdif coaxial input and I tried to connect it that way to my Fantom X. I tried that with a normal cable (non coax) with RCA plugs. Result: no sound at all. Master volume is set btw. Do I have to buy a coax cable? (I expected at least to h...

Re: Remote Trigger RPS via MIDI, can it be done ?
<t>If the drummer has it's own midi "thingy" isn't easier just to send the midi clock signal out to the drummer? You just have to save the right tempo in each performance (or song). He can use his own click track sounds then (saves you making a sequence) and even can have visual feedback (if his dev...

Studio monitors: recommendations
<t>I want to buy (low end) studio monitors, price range around 200 euro's each to use for recording pop songs with my X7. Only roland seems to have active monitors with digital input (never heard them), most monitor-brands in this price range like KRK, Samson, Yamaha probably have better specificati...

Re: Problems sequencing Hold events
<t>Thanks Pianowguy! The continuous hold pedal setting was new to me, I'm sure to disable it, it saves me 100s of hold events and my pedal isn't capable of half damping anyway.<br/> <br/> Problem with the masterkeyboard was solved, it is capable of sending on 2 midi channels. When I recorded on the ...

Problems sequencing Hold events
<t>I suddenly have troubles recording sounds using the hold pedal. While playing everything sounds OK, but playing back the sequence is horrible. When I look into the recorded events there are dozens of Hold events, a lot more than I pressed or released the pedal. Even stranger: also hold values of ...

My advice for your next SRX board: first ask opinions, then order!

Re: SRX Price Drop - When???
<t>I have three SRX cards, bought them for 100 euro (SRX01 and SRX07), and 180 euro (SRX12). That's about 40% of the price in the stores, I bought them 2nd hand on a Dutch internet "market place". I don't know the exact reason, but the last 2 months there's an huge amount of SRX cards available. I'v...

Re: FREE - Live Setting Notes Manager
btw, most of the time I take out the PC card and put it in my laptop. Thats the most easy way to transfer (text) files for me. Does your access solution support this as well (write the text files to another drive actually). Should be great!

Re: FREE - Live Setting Notes Manager
<t>Interested as well! <br/> Anyhow, I stopped trying to put sets in the live-performance tabs cause it was to much work, not so much editing the text files but registering the songs and performances. My best practise now is to use the live mode to register max 8 songs per tab, so you don't have to ...

Re: FX7: Control knob affects wrong part in performance mode
<t>apart from the control knobs: I had the same problem with the sound I only wanted to play from an external keyboard (sending on channel 1 and 2). It you play the fantom keyboard the selected (first) part will always sound, but... I set the keyrange to only the C0 key (or something, the lowest key...

Re: Organ overdrive
<r>I'm not sure if they are sampled, but even if they are you can set them up in a patch with a clean sound and controlling the amount of overdrive by mixing the parts. Just as it is possibe to control leslie (even speed) with sampled leslie organs.<br/> <br/> Listen to <URL url="http://www.roland.c...

Re: Organ overdrive
<t>I do use COSM, the guitar amp EFX, and experiment with the speaker type, amp type and the different volumes, it sounds good to me (using the SRX07 organs with sampled leslie).<br/> <br/> Also take a look at the B4real simulation (it uses the same overdrive algorithm) available on this forum. <br/...

Re: Importing Midi Files into the Fantom
<t>It's possible. I don't know Finale, but I'm sure you can save a file as Standard Midi File or something, Look in the Fantom manual for the supported types. <br/> It probably is easier to connect your PC with Finale to the Fantom and play the "score" sending the notes through (USB) MIDI. You can t...

Re: To Mr. Jimknopf - Question about Rhodes SRX12
<t>Got the SRX12 yesterday. I like it a lot and I'm curious how the sounds will come through playing in my band. Most interesting conclusion is that I start to make funny faces when playing accents in Steely Dan Rhodes intro's, just like Donald Fagen does... The package leaflet didn't tell anything ...
