yes disk was shot
just put in an old 130G HD
formatted fine, set to master, now connects via usb but only showing as 11.g free?
the master/slave pins had the option of solo drive also
maybe just try that?

just for the books MV 8000 is dual voltage auto switching meaning you wont need a convertor to run between 110 and 230V

hi y'all just came by a cheap mv 8000 but it is saying "disk not ready" tried to format bu then says "HD format protect is on" doesn't want to know via \usb either does boot though is the hd protect a software or physical switch? nothing on global screen that i can see anyhow che...

hi all
bit of a boring question but have just scooped a US spec MV for nuts and want to use with a step up convertor 110-230V, most i see are 50W but i see MV is 40W, anyone got a link to something that wont fry my new toy?
