Re: kernel_task spikes (roland drivers?)
I can confirm that Roland's USB drivers send my kernel into overdrive. My A-88 controller sends my macbook pro fans into high thrust even when not using music software. I have other controllers that don't do this (Arturia Keylab Mk2, Akai Mini, Maudio 88es). My guess is that the drivers were rushed ...

Re: Mod/Pitch Wheel Defect
So I gave up after two replacements. The FA series pitch wheel is not reliable for consistent use. The engineers overlooked something in design and it is sure to be a problem if you're an avid user of pitch-bending techniques. My Roland A-49 midi controller has over 5 years of extensive wheel usage ...

Re: Mod/Pitch Wheel Defect
I am randomly having this problem again after replacing the mod wheel. Not sure what is causing it.

Re: FA06 vs JD-Xi?
The FA is not an effective drum machine. It is just a sample player with no velocity sensitivity. As for making songs inside it, you're going to have to wrap your head around saving studio sets, songs, and patch changes seperately. This is the primary problem keeping me from using internal features....

Re: Pads trigger Midi/Keybed?
This feature is still lacking. At least, I wish the pad settings would be stored after shutdown. I liked using the part select mode. But midi implementation is....meh

Re: Mod/Pitch Wheel Defect
So, I received the new mod wheel today. It was simple to replace. After you remove the keyaboard's bottom panel, you will see the mod wheel assembly. One cable has to be detached and then 4 screws holding down the unit. It took about 10 minutes to open, replace, and close. The problem has been elimi...

Re: Mod/Pitch Wheel Defect
Well, turns out my mod wheel is defective... I called Roland and ordered a replacement mod wheel. Cost is $28 USD. When it arrives, I will replace myself and report the result. I prefer DIY because I don't want to ship the keyboard. I already opened it and the job seems simple enough for any handy p...

Mod/Pitch Wheel Defect
This week my pitch wheel is acting up. When I add modulation or a pitch bend, it microtunes my upward. I cannot restore it unless I change the patch and go back. When recording in a DAW via midi, the microtune change records as automation. Based on midi evidence, the pitch bend will not default back...

Re: Pitch change on RD700GX
I have just discovered the same problem with my Roland FA-06. It microtunes itself up a bit after i use the mod wheel. I'll try to open and identity any connector damage. Happy to have found this thread.

Re: Transport-Tipp for the FA-06
This looks very good, but it seems to be a little bit to expensive... It feels good and rolls good. Very light too. The rice is reasonable. I see soft case that cost the same. I was looking at the SKB waterproof case. Does it fit nicely in it? The inside dimensions looked like it would be a tight f...

Re: Fantom X OSX 10.9 Mavericks
PPC needed to go. Why maintain old IBM code for discontinued processors? Roland is a veteran in the business. If its about cost, then they should charge for the driver rather than let the products go stale. Still, its their decision to make...just unfortunate for many.
