Re: multimode in logic
<t>If you go into 'Info' in the menu, you can choose 16 different patches for 16 different parts and trigger each part on a different midi channel. But, part 2-16 is stuck using the same effects section as part 1 and you can't edit or even view those patches, which really sucks.<br/> <br/> You can s...

Re: Got my new V-Synth - impressions so far
<t>Get a compactflash card and CF -> PC card adapter... won't cost much and it really lifts some of the restrictions that are imposed by the internal memory. I've got multiple projects and lots of samples stored on the card, and I rarely even access the internal memory anymore. Do note that you won'...

Re: How to write MIDI messages from V-synth?
the v-synth can't send midi note events like, say, the virus can... there's no arpeggiator send option.

Re: Rumor validity?
<t>Yeah, I can easily accept their decision to discontinue the kb version of the v-synth - they really did an amazing job at making the xt the most intuitive synth around(IMO, of course :p)<br/> <br/> Well, at least if the unthinkable ever should happen, the v-synth became a fully mature and capable...

Re: v-synth and intel mac usb driver problem
<t>I can give it a try... I've got an XT and a mac pro 4x2.66 running 10.4.8 with a motu 828mk2....<br/> <br/> A few things worth pointing out though... you want your clock source to be the motu and not the v-synth, IIRC. Also, when you turn on and off the XT, it will effectively change the audio dr...

Re: How well does Midi over USB work..?
I find I have to send MIDI clock over an actual MIDI cable, even if I'm sending performance information over USB.

Re: Configuring Axiom pressure pads to replace d-beams
<t>Well, AFAIK, the D-Beam is a one-dimensional sensor... Even though there's two of them, they're aligned in parallel so it couldn't possibly get any real spacial information... so no need for more than one MIDI CC per beam.<br/> <br/> You're right that the E1-E8 knobs are there to make up for the ...

Re: Configuring Axiom pressure pads to replace d-beams
<r>Kneel - Thanks! I'll try plugging those CC#s in and see what happens. In any case, CC02's doing something funky on most of the factory patches! <br/> <br/> I understand how contollers are mapped perfectly fine, but those two numbers 16 and 19 aren't mentioned in the V-synth XT manual, even though...

Re: Configuring Axiom pressure pads to replace d-beams
<t>Thanks for the reply Artemio. <br/> <br/> Programming the axiom is not the issue and neither is configuring the v-synth. I have a lot of modified presets such as those from the factory bank which have d-beams assigned in the matrix control, and i'd like to be able to use the modulation source ass...

Configuring Axiom pressure pads to replace d-beams
<t>Right, so the new m-audio axiom controllers have pressure sensitive trigger pads, and given that the axiom25 is parked right in front of my xt, I'm going to dedicate two of its pads to the XT. Having two pressure pads side-by-side should be a decent replacement for the dual d-beams...<br/> <br/> ...

Re: XT & VC2 question
I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure you CAN use the analog inputs on the rear, but you have to enable to rear jacks from the System Mode menu(in I/O tab i think).
The VC2 can't use the digital inputs though, for some odd reason.

Re: a few V-Synth XT questions...
<t>Surely it wouldn't take much recoding of the OS to allow the software to send different output signals from the two pairs of outputs. It's strange to me that Roland don't try to offer as much flexibility as possible with the V-synth i/o's and multitimbral performance. <br/> <br/> I hope future OS...

Re: Version 2 and MIDI
yeah seems like we're the majority. Almost makes me wonder why the manual says NOTHING about this.
(Actually, I'm pretty sure the dude who wrote the manual never used the V Synth. Either that or he's semi-retarded.)

Re: Version 2 and MIDI
<r>The v-synth's USB MIDI implementation is, at best, flakey. I'd recommend using a regular MIDI cable, to be honest. <br/> <br/> When I got my XT, i couldnt figure out why I couldn't get it to make a sound, and soon someone pointed out that USB MIDI doesn't properly send MIDI clock to the XT (so, a...

Re: SH-201, the little V-Synth's brother
<t>Looks like a capable little synth! I hope they offer better parameter smoothing though, as that's really much more critical if they plan on making it competitve with other VAs out there. Thankfully, the design looks reminiscent of the vintage Roland synths (which guessing by the name, is the idea...
