Re: OT anyone have the nord micromodular?

I've got a Nord Modular (not micro-modular), how different are they? I haven't had time to dig into it much though... tons of patches and tutorials on the net though, it looks incredibly deep and the software is fun to hook up all those modules. :-)

Got my VC-2 in the mail this week..

due to a gig I haven't had time to try it yet (hopefully this weekend). I ordered mine from www.8thstreet.com, if anyone is worried try ordering one from there.

Well, Roland Canada says they still have stock

<t>... but they curiously didn't say "VC-2 is definitely not discontinued"; so I'm still not sure if this is true. However, I didn't want to take any chances, so my VC-2 is on the way :-p.<br/> <br/> See, Roland's onto something -- limited edition VCards are like those Magic or Pokemon cards... gott...

Re: D Beam

Yep, the D Beam and and TT Pad on the V-Synth keyboard just send certain MIDI CC numbers (don't know off-hand, but it's in the manual).. if you send the same CC values from any external gear on the right channel, it's the same as if you had a local controller.

Re: Roland stops making the VC-2 card

<t>It's nice to have plug-in cards, saves studio space. I hope this doesn't mean they're abandoning the idea of VC cards totally.<br/> <br/> Roland should look at the long view -- VC cards are kind of like a 'subscription model' -- I could justify paying $200US or so every six months for a new virtu...

Librarian: duplicates waves??

<r>Hi all, (long post, my apologies in advance)<br/> <br/> I was finally starting to fool around with the V-Synth Librarian (1.0, that's the latest version correct?). I wanted to start putting together a custom project.. works OK, but I notice it's quite inefficient in its use of wave slots.<br/> <b...

Try mylar overhead transparency

<t>I used this on my palm pilot years ago. But it required disassembling to the point of accessing the screen, which would mean opening up your V-Synth pretty severely (not too dangerous if you're careful...)<br/> <br/> I cut the mylar to be about 1/8" larger than the exposed screen dimensions, slip...

Re: Anyone else's V-Synth have 'bouncy' buttons?

<t>thanks for the reply, all.<br/> <br/> So, it sounds like either:<br/> <br/> a) The OS is not debouncing key presses enough,<br/> b) Roland got some dodgy switches,<br/> <br/> or a bit of both. The fact that we all see different keys showing this problem either suggests a little more variance in t...

Anyone else's V-Synth have 'bouncy' buttons?

<t>Hi all,<br/> <br/> I am worried one (maybe two) of the buttons on my V-Synth are defective.. the DEC(-) button has started to fail registering, or it double/triple clicks when I press it sometimes. However, I noticed many months ago that one of the effects buttons sometimes did this too, but that...

Re: V synth V 3 :)

BobTheDog - your post suggests you know what bank numbers to send to select patches properly.. please spill the beans, I couldn't find it in my search of the manual. :-)

Thanks!

Re: noisy outputs with usb

<t>I'll try those things BobTheDog, thanks. I did disconnect all other USB devices, all other keyboard from their power and the mixer, etc. to avoid any other equip. causing the noise. I also tried a self-powered USB hub, and an internal PCI USB expander (which did help, every so slightly -- seems t...

It's not just the V-Synth...

<r>I have noticed that outputs get noisy with USB plugged into my V-Synth or Fantom-X. I think the noise we're all hearing is coming from the PC itself, through the USB cable.<br/> <br/> I'm currently tearing my hair out trying to eliminate noise on my external USB audio interface (an ESI WaveTermin...
