Hot Swapping USB Memory Sticks
Has anyone ever had issues hot swapping memory sticks? I've done it without issue (making sure nothing is being written to or from the memory stick of course) however the manual says you should power down to insert or remove. Anyone ever have a problem that might be attributed to a hot USB stick ins...

>> Does this break your warranty ? No doubt. But Roland gear is pretty damn bulletproof these days, so I just took the risk it will be fine for two years. I've got decades-old Roland gear that still operates fine. Plus, there was just no way I was going to tolerate that light beacon in my eyes for ...

Re: Cosmetic defect on new Jupiter X.
Mine has one.
I hadn't noticed it actually until I went looking. It only shows up if the light is just right, despite how bad it looks in the photo.

The business end of the circuitry is all on the opposite side of the boards, nothing chip-wise was visible or accessible without a complete dismantle job.

Re: Jupiter-X: Photos Of The Inside
I'm a tech, so honestly I didn't give opening it up a second thought, but it's easy. The synth goes on its face on the bench (lots of thick soft foam, of course). Then you remove every screw on the bottom panel, 27 total IIRC. The panel then easily comes off straight up. At the modulation wheels, th...

Jupiter-X: Inside Photos
Recently purchased a Jupiter-X. My height, the height of the keyboard on the stand, and the placement of the leds for the pitch wheel all came together to blast me in the eyes through the modulation wheel opening every time I would look in that direction, even with the intensity decreased. I made up...

ISO: Jupiter-80 - Looking to buy.
Sold mine in a delirious purge fit about three years ago. Bummer.
Looking to buy another one now, needs to be in nice condition and in the USA.
I live in Ohio but I'm willing to travel pretty far for the right unit, or I can certainly pay shipping if properly packaged.

Re: JP80 great sound - compare Integra
you think if you used an external keyboard controller to layer up Integra-7 sounds you could get close to the JP80 sound, minus arp? You probably could, but it would be a lot of work. They're two totally different instruments in my mind, and not what I expected when I bought the Integra 7 after own...

Re: Any Roland JX-8P users here???
New owner, love it. Got the aftertouch working 100%. Would also advise people to do the filter resonance calibration, made a world of difference on both my JX-10 and JX-8P.
It does sound a bit different than the JX-10 or MKS-70 (I have both) even when loading the same patches.

Re: Need your feedback on the JP-80
Positive - overall sound is wonderful
Negative - no LFO modulation control using aftertouch. You have to be kidding me.
Keep - the build quality

Right. I have twelve Roland synths; not one a workstation.Synthtron wrote:What I like about Roland is that they have produced high-end synths that were synthesizers in and of themselves but not all-in-one workstations.
Three of the Yamaha synths I have are however. Hmmm. Wonder what that says...
