Re: Is $2000 too much?

Here in Norway the normal asking price for a pristine G-8, is about $1500,-/$2000,-

Re: Shall I sell fantom G to get JP80

I sold my Jupiter 80, and bought a Fantom G-7! The Fantom is mouch easyer to set up. (I also have the Korg OASYS-88, and three more synth's).

I sold my Jupiter 80 and got a Fantom G-7 instead. The 80 has a confusing interface. The Fantom must be among the easiest. (I've still got the OASYS).

Re: Strengths of the Fantom G series

The user interface of it for one. I am speaking for myself here but it's the only workstation I've used where I felt like I was playing a super powerful instrument rather than diving through menus to get what I want. For the few things that don't have simple controls, you can plug a usb mouse in an...

Re: Fantom G - Recommended Speakers

Sounds great with Sennheiser headphones.. I have both the Roland 2 satelites/sub, and the KRK-6. This goes with (5 other keyboards) in a digital mixer (PreSonus-16), and sounds "thinny". The G-7 via headphones, sounds absoloute great, but I also would need some help here...

Re: Roland FA-06 and Fantom G6 successor

I don't know about Korg... I have many boards (including my favourite G-7). I also have the Korg OASYS-88, that cost $10-12.000,- It is built like a tank, and should never have ben replaced by the horrible "plastic fantastic" of the Kronos....

Re: FG7: how to set S1 or S2 to control fast/slow in PFX rot

Just can't believe that Roland forgot this option.... I have the FG7, and I can't see how this can be done. In my Kurzweil PC3 and my Korg Oasys, this can be assigned to a button or even the pedal. "Leslie" accellerates, and at the next push, it spins down to slow rotation....

Re: korg kronos type of sound change

You can use the pads to mute/unmute sounds within a live set. The G (like the Kronos) has "patch remain", so you can switch between live sets during play. Works well for me. (I also have the OASYS, but not the Kronos).

Re: Fantom G next logical step from X?

Kurzweil PC3 series is not 100% backwards compatible with the 2000/2500/2600. I own both The PC3 and the Fantom G7, and they are both great boards. In fact, I would rather sell my OASYS than the Fantom ;-)

Re: 90s Pop with Fantom G...

The Fantom was never ment to be a "Yamaha Tyros" or a "Roland G70". If you want an "entertainment keyboard", the Fantom is not right for you. As a synth/workstation it is still one of the best.

Re: 90s Pop with Fantom G...

Get yourself a "Roland BK7-m", plug it in via MIDI, and you're OK.

Re: Creating live sets.

Operating system is last release, so no problem there. A "factory reset" seems to have solved the problem (for now). Thanks to all of you for trying to help :-)

Re: Creating live sets.

If I do this, the effects are OK. Also, if I use an existing live set as a "base", I can exchange the patches in this live set with patches that I choose from the patch list. When I save this, the effects will play as they should. The problem shows up when I try to use an empty "slot&...

Re: Creating live sets.

No warning window, and no message. I use the patches as they appear in the "program library".
