An odd question, but I'd say that like most modern electronic instruments it can stay switched on indefinitely, i.e. it won't get hotter and hotter until something burns out. I would have said the component with the shortest life is probably the screen and unless it goes into a 'dormant' mode after ...

A monumental task indeed - good luck. BTW, you do realise there is no 'chain play' function as in the XP predecessor range? i.e. you'll have to load each song separately before playing it. And PLEASE, a Chain Play function as featured on the XPs, so I can put songs into sets for playing live. It worked perfectly and I don't know why such a backward step was made by omitting it in the Fantom range. (I know there is a work-around but it's very convoluted). When I queried it with Roland ...
