Re: RD700NX.....Just starting it folks, let's go!!!!

<t>After seeing Roland's web and reading about the "new" NX, it seems to me that it's mostly pure marketing from Roland. In sum, this is a GX with the supernatural piano card, the PHA III keyboard and WITHOUT expansion slots. I haven't had the opportunity of playing the PHA III keyboard, and I don't...

Re: question about RD700GX with no sound from bottom octave?

Could it be the "audio key" button? If it's activated, you get no sounds on the lower octave (the keys are used to play samples). Hope it helps.

Re: RD-700GX(F) Owners: SRX-06 Experiences?

<t>Actually, most digital pianos and even flagship synths haven't got a great amount of pipe organs; it seems that it's not one of the "highest priority" sounds that people are looking for... Regarding the SRX-06, there aren't either many, around half a dozen or so, which is not very much considerin...

Re: Mobile Sound Canvas versus Sonic Cell?

<r>Yesterday I put an order to acquire a SD-50, and probably it will arrive next monday. When I'll test it I'll be able to compare the sound quality with my Fantom XR (I also used to have a Sonic Cell). <br/> <br/> Certainly, I take for granted that the "normal" preset sounds (not the solo ones) wil...

Re: Mobile Sound Canvas versus Sonic Cell?

<t>I have or used to have different Roland models such as The Fantom XR, Sonic Cell, XV-5080 and several models of the "sound canvas" line, such as the SC-55, the SC-880 or the SD-20, among others. Now I'm planning to get a SD-50 to take o look at it. <br/> <br/> Maybe I'm wrong (I'll know when I'll...

Re: RD-700GX(F) Owners: SRX-06 Experiences?

<t>Hey dewster, in fact, they're not 32Mb, but 64Mb... anyway, yes, the SRX cards are expensive. As long as you can, look at the second hand market. Prices are not much lower than new because contray to keyboards and pianos, expansion cards suffer from virtually no degradation from use. <br/> <br/> ...

Re: RD-700GX(F) Owners: SRX-06 Experiences?

<t>Well, here I disagree. I think that the SRX-06 is one of the best SRX cards available despite its age, if you're looking for acoustic/orchestral sounds. You've got an enormous variety and overall the sound quality is very good (although perhaps not the best in each one of the sound categories). S...

Re: Opinions CP1 vs. RD700GX w/SN expansion

<r>Interesting discussion... <br/> <br/> I've not been lucky enough to play a V-Piano or a CP1 yet, but as I've got a RD-700GX w/SN piano card and also a Fantom XR and a Motif XS Rack, I think I can make some comments knowing what I'm talking about. <br/> <br/> First, I disagree with the claim that ...

Actually, there's virtually nothing more than the RD and the XS in my studio :P But yes, they complement very well each other, though.

Re: Which pianos are in the RD-700GX?

<t>AFAIK, Roland has never made public the maker and models of the pianos sampled for the RD. I recall though having read somewhere that the "Expressive" were sampled from an European piano (maybe a Bosendorfer?), the "Superior" from an American piano (Stenway), and the "Ultimate" from a Japanese on...

Re: Roland announces the RD-700GX SuperNATURAL Piano Kit

<t>Yes, I think it's VERY relevant to know whether we're talking of megabits or megabytes... <br/> <br/> If the card has 128 Megabytes of capacity, certainly it could contain a whole new sample set, but it seems as if those samples had been taken from the same acoustic pianos as the stock GX ones. O...

Re: Roland announces the RD-700GX SuperNATURAL Piano Kit

<r>Hi all, <br/> <br/> After having played the new pianos for around 10 days, I have to say that my opinion about the K-RD700GX1 is just as good or even better as my first impressions. I find the new piano sounds to be very round, polished, warm and dynamic; more natural, in a word <E>;)</E> <br/> <...

Re: Roland announces the RD-700GX SuperNATURAL Piano Kit

<t>Although I'm not sure about this, because Roland doesn't give much information, I think that the K-RD700GX1 cannot work on any other SRX synth because it makes use of the SuperNATURAL technology built-in in the RD-700GX (which is the same as found in the Fantom G), and it's not just a collection ...

Re: Roland announces the RD-700GX SuperNATURAL Piano Kit

<r>I finally got my K-RD700GX1 expoansion yesterday. In a few words, I love it! It's worth every penny. It's a nice improvement over the already very good stock pianos. I find the new sounds much more round, powerful and dynamic. I honestly think that this is a must for every RD-700GX owner. <br/> <...

Re: VOTING TIME: What Future ARX Boards Do You Want?

I really would like to see a rack version of the Fantom G with 4 ARX slots AND at least 2 (better if 4) SRX slots. I wonder why Roland hasn't released the Fantom GR yet, after so much time since the keyboard versions. Until then, I'll keep my fully expanded Fantom XR and my RD-700GX.
