SonicCell and Fantom x songs
<t>Hey, <br/> <br/> I know that SonicCell ony has half the wave bank of the Fantom X so I know there are patch incongruities etc. <br/> <br/> Just wondering though if anyone knows if SonicCell will open Fantom X song files (regardless of the patch discrepencies.... I'm assuming not but thought I'd a...

Re: Can you layer drums across the keys?
<t>You can do this on the G, I spoke with Roland and you can map samples across the keyboard. On the X you go to the sample list and you check all the samples you want and create a "rhythm" patch and it assigns them chromatically for you. The guy at Roland said this is a standard feature on the G, y...

Re: USB Connection help!!!
All you have to do is install the usb midi driver, it's on the Roland site and the directions are in the file that you download.

Re: Confirmation from Roland uk- No Multi-Sampling
very dumb idea. I sample like a whore and make kits that fill the whole keyboard... sticking with the X it seems.

Re: Fantom G (What it should have been and it's Specs)
<t>Personally I'm glad that the G has a huge full color screen (let alone all the new additions and the faster engine -thank god!) and it's only going to start @ $2495. <br/> <br/> At least Roland didn't try and build some extremely overpriced, overhyped and under delivered workstation that costs an...

Re: Fantom G (What it should have been and it's Specs)
This just goes to show it does not matter how well you make something; there will always be people who complain about it just so they have something to complain about.

<t>"*[I know a many of you find these kinda useless, musically, so take this one with a grain of salt. And, I don't mean like, more lame telephone rings or whatnot."<br/> <br/> ABSOLUTELY !!! Lose the phone rings, bird chirps and babbling brook sounds already Roland! A "high end professional" workst...

Re: How to get patch to sound same in perf mode?
<t>Yep... that's why the MFX blocks work fine for me. I can generally live with one reverb setting for the whole performance and just adjust the send amount per voice as needed. The Chorus works for me just fine for delay as I typically don't use chorus so much, if needed for thickening I'll just us...

Re: yay... just lost all my files...learn from my mistake
<t>Man that sucks! I've lost entire banks and there is no more painful feeling. <br/> <br/> The only way to be sure you won't lose things in the future is to put a copy of all your files on your computer. If you can make the space just copy ALL files on your CF cards to a folder on your PC where you...

Re: fantom keyboard or rack?
Also, if your not deadset on the keyboard or sequencing on the color LCD, you can edit the sounds on the PC which is why I chose the rack. I like the extra expansions and the space I save.

Re: Post Your Music & Gear Place Picture !
<t>Thanks Manishkurup =) . It's a Mackie Onyx. I don't have the firewire card, just use it as an analog mixer because you loose the EQ section (which are actually great) if you use the firewire. It basically sends firewire directly from after the preamps. I ilke to use it to aux and buss different s...

Re: How to get patch to sound same in perf mode?
<t>Hey if Roland would change things that would be great for all of us but that is the inevitable headache when buying hardware. I personally don't mind the limited effects because I prefer the trade off in sound. I've tried tons of software and hardware just sounds different, for me it sounds bette...
