Re: Recording Studio
<t>Yep, definitely spend some time reading. Acquiring gear and learning to use it takes a lot of time-- I've been doing it for 20 years as a hobby and still feel like a relative noob.<br/> <br/> Starting with the TweakHeadz site is a good thing. After digesting that info, I'd look into the homerecor...

Re: Oberheim OB-Xa - what's it worth?
<r>Agree with Artemio on this, but thought I'd point out that the stock Jupiter 8 didn't have MIDI. It used the Roland DCB control system, which needs a convertor to connect via MIDI. Some Jupiter 8's you may find have MIDI retrofits on them via 3rd party boards.<br/> <br/> If you really want an ear...

Re: what a game
Cromio,
Finally got a chance to play with the patches you re-made and they're great! Love to have the old 1.5 sounds again without having to hack the factory waves.
Kudos to you and all the work you put into the sound set!

Re: How to do this Choppy Riff
<t>It sounds to me like a patch based on a pulse wave oscillator, where the pulse width is modulated over time by the envelope-- not the filter cutoff. Otherwise you'd lose the "buzziness" of the higher harmonics over time.<br/> <br/> Also sounds like a sine LFO applied to the amplifier stage throug...

Re: I like the sounds in 1.41...but
<r>Hi Cromio,<br/> <br/> Thanks for your work on bringing the 1.51 sounds into the 2.0 environment. Would you please email the project file to me as well? I tried to lookup your email address on your website but couldn't find it.<br/> <br/> My email is <EMAIL email="jtrucker4@yahoo.com">jtrucker4@ya...

Re: Wavetables
<r>There's also a great site that Paul Maddox built for the PPG mailing list that has a dump of waveterm samples. Go to <URL url="http://www.ppg.synth.net/download.shtml">http://www.ppg.synth.net/download.shtml</URL> and pull down the zip file under "Waveterm Library" for 416 wav files!<br/> <br/> Y...

I got mine at buy.com
<t>Got a few Kingston 256MB CF cards (about $23 USD) and a CF-PCMCIA adapter (about $10 USD). They've worked great for me, and I share them between my digital camera and the V-Synth depending on need at the time.<br/> <br/> Also got a CF-USB reader for my desktop that makes it simple to load or dump...
