Thank you for your reply Royce. MIDI files seem more and more to be useless.
Say, I noticed you are from Melborne - I've collaborated with a vocalist named Leanne Bugat from Melborne - ever heard of her? Fantastic voice.

Re: .MID files from CompactFlash to PC
Thanks for your reply Romey. I knew that the midi files were data files, but there must be a way they are audibly deciphered while read into the original file - why would other audio devices (synths) only accept .MID (.SMF) as their only form via a SD Memory card?

.MID files from CompactFlash to PC
Hey all, have had my Xa now for 6 years - old faithful has been through a lot and keeps on going. I now want to export my Xa's user songs in .MID to my PC (have already exported them in .WAV). I've converted them from SVQ to MID, and exported the MID's to the CompactFlash card. The MID files play in...

Re: Hey people (1st post)
<t>Thank you Baza ; )) Well, the keyboard helps too... I'm not saying that someday I won't go to the G - as I did to the X from the S - but like a new model car, I'd like the kinks ironed out first - and no better a place than on this forum with you Fantom gurus to keep track of that ; ))<br/> <br/>...

Holding on to my Xa and X6
<r>I was just considering getting the new G - but reading here about the negative points... I'll stick with my X's - I know them too well ; )) <br/> I know it's been ages since I've posted - been so busy in music. This version of "Ave Maria" is entirely Fantom Xa (well, not the vocals) - but I layer...

Could be Robin James is his stage name too - not sure - but he's the one who wrote "Pumped" for M3. Awesome bassist -

Re: Does anyone buy compact discs anymore?
<r>A definition of LP was 25 minutes (short, I know) and up - extended LP was over 60 minutes. The EP was under 25 minutes - I have one of each. A Christian CD (EP of 7 songs just under 27 minutes) I put out for a benefit for my local Catholic church: <URL url="http://www.soundclick.com/bobforbes">w...

Re: Does anyone buy compact discs anymore?
<t>Hi Sammy,<br/> <br/> Everytime I take out and dust off an old vinyl LP and play it for memories, I am amazed at how better the sound quality is today. I learned from a professional sound producer just how much better a 1411 kbps 16 bit WAV is compared to a 128~320 kbps mp3 - the more parts played...

Beloved Xa discontinued...
<r>Have had mine for over 2 years - absolutely no problems with it, and it's been a busy synth - over 100 songs composed, and more than that collaborated on. What will be Xa's replacement?<br/> <br/> Cheers, RedEyeC<br/> <URL url="http://www.myspace.com/redeyec">http://www.myspace.com/redeyec</URL><...

CD - WAV or mp3
<r>mp3 technology is convenient - but nothing yet compares to the sound quality of a 16, 24, or 32 bit WAV audio file. And other than PC storage, these files can only be stored on CD's efficiently. <br/> <br/> Cheers, RedEyeC<br/> <URL url="http://www.myspace.com/redeyec">www.myspace.com/redeyec</UR...

Help Art - Anyone about imports...
<t>Hi Art,<br/> <br/> Followed your instructions as specified on the other thread:<br/> <br/> " I am not sure what you mean by "edit it to add tracks", but if you just want to insert it into your sequence just choose Load on F keys from the sample list, then Assign To Keys, select the part to assign...
