Re: FA 06 + FA08
They just look cheap. I hope the price is too. Almost exactly the same marketing slogans as the Fantom X was sold with in 2003. And so far I wouldn't "upgrade" mine. The Jupiter would be a no-brainer after this. EDIT: If the Fa-06 weighs only 5,7 Kg, and plays well, then her looks deceive ...

so how does that little sister/brother 300 do?
<t>So how about that RD-300GX. <br/> At under 15Kg it sounds perfect carrywise as an 88-keyboard piano-action Roland keyboard to accompany my FX6. Yet the older RD-700 weighs another 10Kg more. So what's up with that? <br/> <br/> I hope it's ok that I ask this here, as I really want the insight of v...

Re: USB connection causes noise in audio
<r>He is right, though. <br/> Try connecting the Fantom with MIDI only and see if the same problem occurs. If it does not, then you clearly have a grounding problem in your studio. <br/> <br/> MIDI is ground-lifted (not sure if this is the correct term as my mother tongue is not english). USB is not...

Re: Roland Comparison ??? XV-racks vs Fantom XR vs Fantom G
<r>But then again you might get a Virus synth. Or maybe an Alesis Andromeda if you have the money. <br/> <br/> Really, 9/10 people can't hear the difference between a well made VA (Virus) and would confuse it easily with a modern day 106 (Alesis Andromeda). <br/> <br/> So why the hassle? I know, yet...

Re: Big problem with the installation of SRX boards.
If it is the old motherboard issue, it should be a free fix. Most can be determined by the serial number on the rear plate of your X-series.
It takes a bastard to sell an old unpatched FX 7 years later though.

It's the same discussion every time a new model emerges.
Personally, as a perfectly happy Fantom X6 owner with 4 srx cards, I'm waiting for that next big breakthrough! It sure wasn't the G. (no pun intended)

Re: Roland Comparison ??? XV-racks vs Fantom XR vs Fantom G
These days, mostly a matter of principle.
I know many won't see it my way.
I really don't understand what comparing analog synth modelling has to do with a Fantom anyway. Get a Virus.

Re: Dim screen
<t>I had this exact same problem with my X6. The screen went darker and darker very slowly until it really was completely unreadable in daylight. In my case the problem was the voltage inverter for the screen backlight. <br/> <br/> Roland Finland service worked as a charm as usual, just can't thank ...

Re: Juno Stage - Who is it for?
<t>So what exactly does this F* up of the favorite function mean on the Juno Stage? I am a happy FX6 user but I have been watching very closely at Juno Stage for live stuff. I want to keep my FX6 at home and use one keyboard for live gigs. <br/> <br/> I played the JS at my local music shop (Tampere,...

Re: HELPPPPP Problem with Fantom x7
<t>If you have your fantom (or any other synth with local on) connected to a computer or any other midi device running a sequencer with echo on, it will send back the notes you are playing on your fantom with a small delay and cause them to be played again by your fantom hence causing a flanger-like...

Re: FANTOM XA:loading sounds from XV, missing X6 banks
<t>I can't see why you would have to apologize for a very legitimate question. <br/> <br/> I personally got the SRX-06 and SRX-04 expansions to my X6 quite quickly as it was what I was aiming for. Then again, on the XA you have that 1 expansion slot. <br/> <br/> As far as I can see it, the SRX-06 is...

TRS cables
<r>Good point, although it won't help you if you have a ground loop. <br/> <br/> On stage or in other long cables you want to use balanced cables, but they only help you with the problems you get on that cable run...for example powerful magnetic fields (especially modulated ones like AC transformers...
