Thanks to you both for your help!
Perhaps another tip -- to 'smooth' out the volume differences between patches stored in favorites, you can save the 'Favorites volume' you select via knob 4.
Thanks again.

Re: Maintaining transpose setting when switching via Favorit
Thanks for the response quebec88, but will that work for Performances too (Live mode 'splits / layers')? Perhaps I don't quite understand your workaround..?

Maintaining transpose setting when switching via Favorites
<t>Hi, <br/> I've noticed that when the G is in 'Favorites' mode, and I set the Transpose down a half-step, if I switch to another patch in the favorites list, the transpose setting is reset back to '0'. <br/> <br/> Is there a way to have the G not modify my -1 transpose setting, without resorting t...

Control FG Performance from FX Performance via MIDI?
Quick question:
Essentially I'd like to play the X8's keys, but control a G7 performance split from the X. Possible? Or am I stuck using the slaved keyboard in 'single' mode all of the time?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Updated to v1.30, but can't restore backed up default v1
Thanks for the reply cyclops..
I attempted your suggested method without success.. I'm guessing that the default v1.20 project isn't somehow compatible with v1.30?

Updated to v1.30, but can't restore backed up default v1.20
<t>Hello, <br/> As stated on the subject line, I followed the README steps when upgrading my G7 to v1.30. However, my v1.20 default project (the one that is on the G7 out-of-the-box) doesn't restore (i.e. the default project that comes with v1.30 remains, despite my project restore attempts). <br/> ...

Update
My X8 has been repaired and is good-as-new. It only took the repair technician a few hours to tear things down and replace the key-bed.
Got the X in time for a gig this Saturday.. it's good to have her back!

problem discovered
<t>FYI<br/> A local Roland authorized tech has diagnosed the problem with my X8. He said that the key-bed's 'sub frame' was broken in two places, which was allowing the keys to sag in the middle of the board. The sagging is causing mis-alignment of the keys/hammer action in that area of the board.<b...

Re: X8 Key-bed problems
<r>Thanks guys for the advice. <br/> <br/> I've contacted a local repair shop, and found that they currently have a 2-3 week backlog of work. With a gig coming up in less than two weeks, I'll need to look for a good chunk of free, no-gig time to be without the X8.. <E>:(</E><br/> <br/> Thanks again,...

X8 Key-bed problems
<t>Hello,<br/> I'm having an issue with my X8 where a few of the keys in the middle of the key bed don't 'feel' right. <br/> <br/> They (G#3, A3, & D4) all exhibit a 'spongy' feeling, and two of them click fairly loudly (not through the audio outputs) when pressed. In addition, the A3 key actual...

dude, check this out
<t>Hey,<br/> I think I've figured this one out.. it involves some 'poor man' editing of a preset patch.<br/> <br/> Check to see if you've got a Preset called "Bending Logo". This preset sounds like the beginning of a movie when the THX logo is shown. We can use this as the foundation of the sound, s...

Yep, I saw you guys perform last month
Cool.. You guys sounded good. I perform in a cover band as well (The Whiskey Brothers). If you're ever free some weekend, it'd be fun to meet up and talk at a show during breaks, etc... (I'm using X8, XP-80, and v-synth XT on stage..) Band website if you're interested: http://www.thewhiskeybros.com ...

Re: Sweep sound in the beginning of It's My Life by Bon Jovi
<t>Hey there. You wouldn't happen to play Club Meadows (western MA) once in a while do you? If so, I've seen you guys perform before..<br/> <br/> Anyway, have you gone through the X8 factory presets for any kind of 'filter sweep' sounds? I'm sure I've come across some on the X.. then just modify the...
