Hi,
Thinking of getting a JD XA but need to know if the LFOs are polyphonic or not. This would be a bit of a deal breaker for me...
cheers

Re: Key Pitch Follow??
Aha! LFO rate set to 0! Yes, that works - of course you can't do that with analogue LFOs! Once again Dany, many thanks for your help.

Re: Key Pitch Follow??
Once again, thank you Dany for this. I'm not with my Jupiter at the moment so I can't try it but I'm guessing you can set the LFO to retrigger with every note? Assuming you can do that the problem is that if the LFO is running, even at the slowest speed, wouldn't that change the pitch DURING the not...

Re: Key Pitch Follow??
Thanks for your help Dany re the buttons. For some reason I missed this in the manual! With regard to the key pitch follow, that really is an terrible oversight on Roland's part. Not altogether surprising though, I feel the JP80's immense potential is hamstrung by some pretty ill-thought-out design/...

Key Pitch Follow??
Hi Been searching the JP80 a while for the key pitch follow function a la JD800, JD990, XV5080 etc. Am I out of luck? If so could someone please advise on a method of re-creating the effect of this, ie vastly different scales/pitches for each tone in a liveset? Also any way of disabling the EXTREMEL...

Re: What Can I do to Make the Organ Sound like an Organ?
actually mate, there's f*** all you can do to get anything remotely approaching a decent hammond sound on the jupiter 80. don't even try. i've wasted days doing so and refuse to go there again! it's almost embarrassing how awful the leslie sim is on this - especially when compared to it's immediate ...

what evidence do you have for that? and what about the solo and percussion layers??Watermelon wrote:I think the Jupiter-80 works as follows : 256 voices available at REGISTRATION level, split into 128 voices for the UPPER LIVESET and 128 for the LOWER LIVESET.

Re: 256 voice polyphony?? not as far as i can tell!
I think this is a case of you trying to use a string sound in away that it isn't meat to be used that was my whole point bruce! i'm obviously not explaining myself very clearly - sorry, it's pretty confusing i know. to re-iterate, 1805 stringssect1 would be more useful as a string "pad" i...

Re: 256 voice polyphony?? not as far as i can tell!
3. I find it particularly hard to comprehend or reproduce a test which plays over 64 audible voices, and listens for 1 voice being stolen. Audibly, its impossible for me to make a qualified determination if I hear a voice being stolen or under what conditions it happened. of course ron! nobody - no...

Re: 256 voice polyphony?? not as far as i can tell!
ron, what you say in your last post about scripting makes perfect sense and undoubtedly what people are sometimes interpreting as note stealing is in actual fact roland's scripting algorithms just not being able to keep up with what they would be programmed to think of as "inappropriate" p...

Re: bowed piano sound anyone?
thanks for your suggestions guys, but what i wanted to do was use the sound of the supernatural acoustic piano rather than an electric piano. i tried the adsr offset in the liveset layer menu but couldn't get it to work at all?? it seems as if there really is nothing you can do to alter the envelope...

bowed piano sound anyone?
i've spent the best part of the past hour trying and failing to come up with the sound of a piano with a slow attack - a "bowed" piano if you like. you'd think this would be pretty simple to achieve but i can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. help please!

Re: 256 voice polyphony?? not as far as i can tell!
I have never heard any note stealing on the JP80. I don't need to do any tests. It just doesn't happen to me. respectfully ron, i might suggest that you may hear the note stealing going on better if you bothered to take your head from the sand where it would appear to be firmly buried ;-) (although...
