Re: Thinking of getting an analogue synth, trying to decide
<t>I had a Voyager Select and it was a fantastic synth. I had to sell though as i was not really using its potential and the wretched credit crunch plus a new baby meant i needed the £££££. I think its very much a players keyboard and very live orientated. Superb build quality. You can get the CV br...

Re: Selling music online - have you ever considered this?
<t>I considered it, but having reviewed my creations, decided that they are mostly crap and that no one in their right mind would buy them. Maybe one day......<br/> <br/> Seriously though, i've not got the hunger for the music business at all. I do my job which pays all the bills etc. and dont have ...

Re: Ableton vs Sonar
<t>Patrick<br/> <br/> Well, just to keep it balanced - i'd go with Live (i have both). I think it depends alot on what type of music you want to make. Live is great for loop/sample manipulation and quickly recording hardware instruments and live performances. It also (naturally) hosts vst and vsti, ...

Re: Why hardware synthesis is dead -- and how we can fix the
<t>Well hardware synths and modules is all i want now. I started off with a juno 6 in like 1980 or something kept it for years, MIDI retrofitted it, added an Ensoniq SQ80, an SH101 and used Stienberg Pro 24 on an Atari ST. Sold up everything and did nothing for years until i bought an X8. Then took ...

Re: Who of you doesn't watch TV?
<t>I watch sport and news and Harry Hill (UK relevant reference). TV is fine - you just got to pick the best bits IMO. I try to avoid anything that has a panel of judges (one of who might be nasty...), so i retire to my Machinedrum and Monomachine whilst my nearest and dearest watch that crap. I pay...

Safari and Site Access Time
Anyone else find that when requesting the site here, the progress indicator bar in Safari gets a couple of cm then has a pause for 30 secs or more? Cant see why this should be, but its just recently happening on my computer.

Re: Apple's new MacBook, MacBook Pro and Cinema Display
......... and USB 2 is not so bad. I noticed that Alesis abandoned its Firewire mixers and went with USB 2 - i even bought one, and it works fine in streaming 18 channels of audio. I have a MBP and only use the FW800 for backing up to my glyph HD.

Re: SONAR 8
<t>Its not even out yet, but generally SONAR users will tell you SONAR 7 is as good as any other program. Same would apply if you asked regarding Cubase. Unfortunately your best bet is to wait for a respected unbiased review (if there is such a thing). Or post this on the SONAR forum and duck for co...
