Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?

>New is always and will forever be the business model of any manufacturing company "Always"? "Forever"? It's just this contemporary, assembly-line, industrial revolution world. It really wasn't all that long ago when, for instance, "Steinway" and "Stradivarius"...

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?

>The workstation is dead After I did my post saying I'd like a workstation sort of like the Gaia with a sequencer/recorder, I thought, well, heck, a Gaia and its software editor cost about $700. A low-end PC and Cakewalk Producer probably cost about $1,000. That's STILL less than two grand [!] and i...

However I love what I've seen and heard of it, especially the Adrien Scott Aussie demo someone linked to. I wish it the best, but I don't know anyone...

>I would certainly faceplam if I ever saw a guy on stage trying to counterpoint his own trumpet solo on a synth Well, it's the 21st century. I don't want to get into this facepalming stuff, and I'm certainly not an expert on keyboards, but it seems to me some people in this thread may be posting abo...

Re: juno gi versus kronos 61

>Is there a better keyboard than the Juno Gi for the guitarist who also want to play the keyboard? I have a Yamaha psr-s910 and I plug in my guitar all the time. Lots of amp models and effects. And the keyboard has a built-in amplifier/speaker system. It is "only" an arranger keyboard, but...

Re: Fantom G Sequencer

Mystic38 >@markwar.. Your post makes no sense

Sorry to waste peoples' time. I probably phrased things stupidly. (Or thought things stupidly! Or both!) Like I said, I'm a guitar guy just learning about keyboards. And I don't know much.

>perhaps I'm the only person left who hasn't abandoned the idea of a Fantom G in favour of a Korg Kronic I'm a guitar player and about a year ago I decided to give in and finally learn keyboards. Re: Gaia Sound Designer Software

FYI everyone --

At the Roland US website they list a firmware update for the Gaia going to 1.03. It doesn't look like it does a great deal, but add support for Sound Designer and a GM parameter.

The page is: Roland US Gaia update page

Has anyone updated? Any big differences?

Re: Lack of posts a sign?

Dear mojkarma, If you like fans (or if you're indifferent to them, or resigned to them), then good for you. Enjoy all the many products which, these days, include fans. But some people have lived a different life than you. Some people think different thoughts than you. Some people, in short, are not...

Re: Gaia Sound Designer Software

Thank you everyone for your replies. FYI, one reason I got to thinking about a new version of the Gaia, is because at the Roland site for the Sound Designer software , at the bottom of the page, in a note, it says: * Before using this product, you may need to update your GAIA SH-01 to the latest ver...

Re: Lack of posts a sign?

I haven't seen a Kronos is real life, but I read in some review that THEY HAVE A FAN built into them. A fan. So you get up in the middle of the night, switch on the Kronos, wait three or four minutes for it to boot-up, and then you listen to the fan hum while you're deciding between a GM7 or a Bm7 ...

Re: Gaia Sound Designer Software

Sweetwater sells it, but there's a note saying orders will ship only after Roland sends it to them but there's no guesstimate of arrival.

I know the unit is standalone, but I am basically a guitarist at heart, so for anything that has knobs and keys, I need all the help I can get.

Gaia Sound Designer Software

I'm strongly considering getting a Gaia, but I kind of wanted to get the Gaia and the sound designer software at the same time. Does anyone know when the software becomes available? Anyone know why it took so long to come out after being announced--is there a problem? Or is it the opposite, has the ...
