Re: If you need a great piano sound...
<t>Hi William, I actually bought a Coakley piano a long time ago, a 32mb (Fazioli) for my Akai S2000 (sold a while ago). CD got scratched so i can't even load it up anymore, but at the time I was pretty satisfied with it. I also have a Protesus 2000 with Sounds of ZR (w/ your piano), so I'm a suppor...

If you need a great piano sound...
<t>After browsing through some of the other piano threads, I would like to suggest buying Synthogy's Ivory. This thing blew me away, really an awesome job by Joe Ierardi, IIRC. I have a Fantom XR, bought an SRX11, also have a Triton Extreme, and before that a Triton Rack with the nice Grand Expansio...

Re: OS2 pre-installed on FantomX
Is playback of the audio tracks instantaneous? as in, no delay from the time you press play (since it's memory and not hard disk...) I;m mostly concerned about, say, a singer skips a section in a live show and you have to find that section and get back on track with the band.

hmmm...no answer
I have to agree. Other than the audio recording the upgrade doesn't look like much.

SRX11...THIS is what shoulda been in the Fantoms
<r>Been listening to the demos and it has that low end I've been struggling to get from the Fantom's piano (among other improvements in the timbre). Really what should have been in the internal rom, but I won't bitch and will just say thank you to Roland for giving me an option to upgrade the piano....

Re: SRX 11 Complete piano and XR V2
<t>You know, even though I bought the XR mostly for the piano, it really does have a lot of room for improvement. I have A/B'ed it to the concert grand exp rom in my Triton (standard on the Studio and Extreme) and it really isn't that much better. And I was really trying my best to believe that it w...

Roland, please faster access to the card in 2.0
Am worried if the power goes out on a gig (common where I am). Will take too long to load up the full 512 from the card. I understand its only x4? I have a cf card that is x64. And a lot of new ones are x24 and x48. Anyway, hope this gets into v.2.0

Any new SRX for NAMM?
Anyone heard anything? Maybe new synth/analog/or even FM sounds?

Re: I GOT MY FANTOM X7, sound is very thin....
<t>Spectrum didn't do it. But Low Boost worked much better, since I was able to adjust a lower frequency (I picked 90 hz with a boost width of MID, added 4db of low gain and 8db of high). Would have liked to have taken out a db or two in the mid freqs, but adding beef on the low end is good enough.<...

Re: I GOT MY FANTOM X7, sound is very thin....
<t>After listening more closely today comparing the Fantom with the 16mb grand piano rom I put in my Triton Rack, the piano from the Tritton wins...barely, but only because of the lack of low end in the bottom octaves of Ultimate Grand. I'll try the Spectrum fx, see if eq will fix it. It's a really ...

Re: I GOT MY FANTOM X7, sound is very thin....
I think the Ultimate piano patch is kind thin also, but the Concert Grand (PR-F in my XR) patch is much better. Have you compared the two?

Re: Memory Card Nightmare
<t>Nobody in Comp USA knows anything about computers...or printers or just about anything they sell. I now ask help from a salesperson just for amusement. They come up to me enthusiastically and quite often snobbishly and ask what I need to know, and they have NEVER been able to answer anything I as...
