Re: RC50 doesn't sync in midi as a slave

Hi, This is a known issue. The problem is that the rc-50 requires a midi start message before it will sync to midi clock. There's no software fix available for this at the moment although a lot of people have complained about it. Boss knows about the issue but me and others have been told it's not g...

Re: V-Synth rocks :)

I agree, used to have a micro modular. But I prefer to create patches using the knobs and not with a PC editor.

V-Synth rocks :)

Have to let you know that, after using the V-Synth a couple of months, I still don't miss my good old Nord Lead 3. Have played with the red monster for 4 years but imo, the V-Synth is the ultimate tweak machine, you can get unbelievable sounds out of it. My 2 cents :)

Re: tweaking?

Try the wave shaper, it offers good templates for your own patches if you don't know where to start.

Proprietary OS I would say...like any synth.

Re: Can I load syx files in my V with VC1 module?

I think you should be able to upload sysex with a good D-50 editor. Examples I heard were MidiQuest and SoundDiver. Don't have a VC-1, can't test it

V-Synth tips

<t>1) Recently, my midi patchbay died and I could no longer use all my synths on stage. My solution: I sampled a couple of DX-7 sounds from my Yamaha FS1-R and Variphrase of my V-Synth did the rest. In fact, I only sampled 1 note C3. A good alternative when you need a sound quickly and playable up t...

Re: Keyboard Monitor Recommendations?

Synths like the Fantom sound good when you use a stereo monitoring system, especially for acoustic sounds...eg piano.

Re: Vsynth editor

The V-Synth has one of the best user interfaces ever made, I doubt if a patch editor can beat it ;)

Re: Loop points

I agree, but you should still be possible to change the loop points yourself. Not all samples have good loop points ;)

Re: Output clipping??

Almost any modern synth has this problem, not just the V-Synth. Some Fantom-X presets also clip, the same counts for the Motif ES ;)

Re: Output clipping??

<t>Most modern synths clip because of excessive effect usage or EQ. What you should do with any synth is a "sound check" with high output level patches (usually rhythmn patches) with EQ off/on and effects off/on.
